My new Peashooter!!

Hey guys. Santa brought me my Christmas present a couple days early. Check it out.
Its the new GT4208 80mm. The exhaust is all stainless. It weighs half of what my current turbo does and its bigger! Big thanks goes to Enzo Racing for jumping hoops to get it for me.

I'm having trouble judging the size... could we get a pic with something for comparison? Like maybe a Rottweiler?

So how does this Garrett unit compare to the BW S480?

You can't compare a Garrett to a BW, imo...you get what you pay for.

LOL, I have something very similar on my car. Though I'm running the larger turbine wheel. I'm betting you'll be surprised at your results.

Here's the mani I made for it

If anyone can get you to your goal Ray certainly is one. What's the T/H A/r on there? Standard 1.0 I'm guessing?

There's the rub, this one will definitely give better response than your T6, but if memory serves correct it's volume is smaller. Same goes with the compressor side. By stuffing the larger wheel in the smaller housing it effectively drop's the A/r down. Usually you'll see gains at lower levels, but lose up top (apples to apples) by running the tighter A/r. Another words you may see more power at say 20psi but you will see less overall power at max. Again this is apples to apples.

All that aside, I assume you had the BP replaced with the lighter one? If so how does your turbo feel now? Nice having a 42-45R that weighs the same as your off shelf 35R

The weight saving alone is incredible.. I have the tial SS exhaust housing on the way too.. Greg told me my T6 housing is close to 3 times heavier than what I have on the way. I recently held a GT35R with the tial housing in my hands and was SHOCKED how light that turbo felt...Talk about weight savings...was almost unreal....

Back Plate. I can't tell in your pics, but I think I see the aluminum one peeking out. I made mine here. I wanna say my turbo weighed in at 26lbs, not bad since it started at 48lbs. The cast iron BP weighs a ton, get rid of that, and the T6 housing for the TiAL and you've shaved a ton of weight off it. It's hard for people to believe when they pick them up. Though I started with a 45R I'm sure it's still a big savings with the 42R.

Yes, I have the stainless backplate. I was saying how it was half the weight of my old turbo.
