My new manifold is here :D

Ryan Shook finished my manifold and now I'm just about ready to install this beast! I can't wait to see what the power/response is going to be like All I need now is for the damn USPS freight truck to deliver my damn exhaust and I'm golden.

And here's the monster going on the manifold:

Holset HX40 mmmm

My goal is 450rwhp @ 20-21 psi while not having a ton of lag...wish me luck!

EDIT: Found a picture of the exhaust
http://www.shookmotorsports.com/imag...x/SNC00070.jpg

Guy who built and designed the manifold and my exhaust that's coming is Ryan Shook of www.shookmotorsports.com

yeah, as beautiful as that manifold is, by having the wastegate runner merge like that you have a free flowing path between the runners, negating the effects of a dual scroll manifold..

There is a divider running into the wastegate dump part of the way. It will work.

ehh. I'll get some later. But it only runs about a half inch in. This isn't 100% divided I know. The the way to do that would have been dual wastgates but I don't have the money for that or the extra fab work required.

Wastgate location + wastgate inlet design+ your Holset turbo is heavy and it does not look like it is built to support the weight nor the heat...

What schedule material ?

I would think you would want schedule 40

What did you pay to have that made?

Paid 500. It's 304 stainless 16 gauge. I've been told that it will hold the weight of the turbo and any crackingwill be warrantied. As long as I get my 20 psi I'm happy.

BAD news for you bro.......

16 guage is .065 inch thick (not strong enough)
Schedule 40 is .140 to .200 inch thick

Not only is going to crack....
Your turbo/wastegate is likely to break off once that manifold once it heats up....

I'm curious to your level of design and fabrication experience that gives you basis to make these absolutely absurd claims.

^Sadly, I have been doing this too long...and I know what works and I REALLY know what does not work...

I am not here to rain on your parade, simply giving free advice..

You have the right to absoultely ignore what I have said...

Run it and you will see for yourself..

Good thing you have a warranty..

if my chinese ebay crap manifold can hold my holset, your manifold can. Not sure how thick mine is but i would compare it to a slice of thin sandwich meat.

Not to hijack the thread.. Looks nice... I had an equal length mani made for my set up gt40r....i've never experienced such response on a turbo this big... spools up to 800 quicker...and what seems like 3 times less laggy... no more boggy driving..

Here it is next to my megan racing header... New left...megan (old) right

People have done it. However this particular setup is for an FC.

Thanks! I offered to have my dad's friend fab up a little bracing, but Ryan insisted that it will hold without it and I'm taking his word for it. I'm installing it next week once my exhaust arrives and I have to go to the hydro store to find out what the oil feed line thread and pitch is since noone remembers on the forum haha

Niceeee, that's my goal. I want to see how responsive I can get this turbo. My buddy's T70 had decent response, but that was with a cast iron log manifold and it's a T70, I'm lookin to beat that in response with this setup
