my 2b turboset up and questions...

Well today I decided that I am going to have to go turbo. I want to compile an exact list of everything i'm going to need to get it done. As some of you know I am leaving for basic in 7 days. But when I get back I'm going to have all that money saved up and I've decided wha I'm going to do with it. I want to blow through my weber that I already have, with a 6 port 13b. the one i have in the car now runs great and they're plentiful if I blow it up. I want to either drive down to rotaryshack And get it done when i get back or order it all when I'm gone and It would be sitting there at home waiting for me to put togather Anyone with experiance feel free to chime in and let me know what all I'll need to get this done.
What I Have:
1983 GSL
S4 13b
Weber 45 dcoe
Idle jets 65f9
Main jets 180f11
Accell pump 45
36mm choke?
RB header & presilencer
Second silencer in the mid pipe
Dynomax muffler(it hasn't burnt out, i got the good one)
MSD DFS
MSD 8mm plug wires
electrik fan
holley blue fuel pump and regulator
Wish list:
turbo manifold: HKS CAST manifold
Turbo: As far as a turbo I don't realy know what kind i want my goals are at least 325 bhp when i turn up the boost, but in the 200's range when I'm drivin it around.
downpipe: not decided yet
intercooler: not decided yet
fuel pressure regulator: Mallory 4309 rising rate
wastegate: not decided yet
blowoff valve: GReddy type s
of course the pipeing
carb bonnet: Rotaryshack
carb prep for boost: by Rotaryshck
oil drain and feed lines:for the feed i'm going to tap the Racingbeat pressure and temp adapter they sell, and for the drain I'll either tap the front cover below the omp, like a friend did, or I don't even have an OMP any more so I figure i could just tap the plate i Have blocking off where it used to be.
longer oil cooler lines(cause the cooler sits where the intercooler would go right now)

okay I'm pretty sure i'm going to be getting the HKS manifold from Rotaryshack. Now it has a mounting point for an external wastegate. So I'm going to be getting a external wastegate and a boost controller. I'm going to get the GReddy PRofec. Now does that work with any wastegate or would I have to get one that allows adjustment?? I was looking at just the standard wast gate from HKS and they list them by PSI. Is that max PSI, or the only PSI they release pressure at?

I don't know much about carb turbo setups, but I do know that a TO4E will give you the power you are looking for. I would go with the 57 trim AR .60 compressor side and the P trim AR .84 exhaust side(this is the turbo that comes in the FD TO4E kit). You could probably go down one size in exhaust AR and get a little quicker spool up, but the top end will suffer. This turbo has the potential for between 350-400rwhp on a ported rotary, but should make the power you want at lower safer boost levels. As far as the wastegate goes, I would not get the standard wastegate, I had problems with boost creep on my FD because it was to small. The psi rating on a wastegate is the minium boost you can run, you can turn it up with the boost controller, but can't turn it down. The Profec will work fine with any wastegate you choose. I am assuming you are going to run an NA motor so you are going to want a wastegate that opens at low boost, say 5psi.

It all depends on how much you want to spend. Simple but true.

If I were you I would save the money you are going to spend on a T04 and a wastegate and a manifold and invest it in an ECU to control fuel and ign.

Depends on how creative you could be in making a turbo manifold (or getting some type of adapter made) and how good you are at messing with wires and mapping programs.

Carburetor is a simple way to get HP but not a reliable and precise method of fueling.

just my 2cent

first off efi is better, period. but we're not going get into that debate.

a t04e will be too much turbo if you're only shooting for 325bhp with 'high boost'.

hell if you're only looking for 200bhp normally, then you could use a stock s5 turbo with a clipped turbine wheel, and then you could turn up the boost and get 300bhp anyway.
