Life of a Large Turbo? Not the engine.. the TURBO!
Curious on how long a large turbo will last on average?
I know the twins tend to go around 100k, some last as long as 150k... but I am curious on the life of an oil cooled turbo.. say a T78? or a GT42?
30k? 50k? 100k?
This is assuming it's not being pushed too far past it's efficiency rating. Maybe 2-5psi past it's max efficienty.
Thanks,

Most of the larger framed turbos are from the trucking industry, they can last a very long time. The biggest issue you might have is taking out the rear wheel with Apex seal fragments.
Pushing it past it's eff. would be harder than you think also. Depending on which large frame turbo you pick, you would be running around 40psi and still be almost 75% eff. so I think you'll be ok
