largest compressor wheel for hybrid t4

I recently removed a t04b hybid turbo off my s5. I was unsure of the size and trim of the compressor wheel. The turbo worked fine for a year but I think the compressor came off a truck turbo. Power dropped off after 6k so I thought the wheel wasnt the best setup for drag racing so I ordered a 60-1 wheel. The 60-1 wheel I ordered was much bigger than my original wheel so I sent my compressor to the same place I purchased the 60-1 wheel from. He machined the wheel and compressor and sold me a new backing plate. Apperently the vendor did not balance the comp wheel after he modified it and it siezed 10minutes after I put it together. So now Im out $500.00 and back to a stock turbo. Needless to say this vendor was a complete ahole and not helpful.
I want to build another hybrid and need advise since Im not a turbo expert. Im also very confused after reading tons of turbo posts. I think a t4 housing is the biggest housing i can use for a hybrid because of clearance issues. What is the biggest wheel that fits in a t04b housing.?
What trim should i use for more top end power?
Can I buy a t4 housing that fits a60-1 wheel without modifing the wheel?

The 60-1 is the biggest wheel that i know of to fit a t04b housing, That will supply huge flow for high rpm.

You may have reached a wall in power due to stock turbine rather than a poor compressor selection. What boost were you running?

I was running between 15 and 17psi. What is the t4 housing that accepts a 60-1 wheel without being modified?

Question

I am looking at turbos on ebay and they are describing the compressors as .50a/r ,.60 a/r etc.. How do I know what wheel and trim it is? I thought a/r's refered to the turbine wheels not compressor wheels?
Someone please clear this up for me? I need to order a new wheel and compressor soon. Does anyone know what wheel and compressor BNR uses for the stage4 kit?

I think BNR uses to4b 60-1 in there stg4.

T04b housings are .6ar, T04e Housings are .5ar.

A t04b housing and backing plate can fit the 60-1 wheel but the housing will need to be machined to suit.

17psi was about the most I could get out of my bnr stage 4. If I did get a tad more it would just bleed down to 15-17psi. That was with a hotside that was bored out to a ptrim wheel also. If your looking for big power and lots of psi then I would suggest going with a full turbo upgrade. Hybrids are great bigginer turbos but usually will leave you wanting more since it only taps the higher hp levels but doesn't quite satisfy the need for full on power.

garrett, turbonetics, switzcher, billet and a couple of others make a compressor housing and backplate to fit a 60-1 wheel and I hear there are some made to fit a 62-1 or some sort of equal size gt group wheel. why not use a t04r housing with a spacer? it sounds like your engine is not set up for this kind of air flow and the exhaust housing on the stock turbo is going to be a problem with such a large compressor side, a more mated aproch with your turbo will produce a much more useable output from your engine and lower et's . I have heard a few guys in NZ have cast new modified exhaust housings that fix this issue and alow you to mount a gt type to it so it would be bolt in. may be someone down there will chime in?
