kkk stage 2 vs. gt35/40
Just wondering if someone had to choose, which one would they get and why? I know that the kkk will put up bigger hp numbers, but the other spools faster, is the hp worth it to get the kkk or is the difference in spooling too much? Say for someone choosing a turbo for mostly street use, but taking it to the track a few times.

I don't think you will get a definite answer till we see some dyno graphs up. There's lots of speculation and people will tell you what it should be or will be like, but not how it is. Hurry up with those dynos boys!

i'll tell you why i am leaning towards the gt35/40 and maybe it will apply to you. i am in the same boat that i want to go to the track and ahve as a street car. but i don't see myself going to the track that often to need such large hp. i see myself at the track twice amonth for three months out the year (roughly, if i get into it like that it maybe more). so i would rather something that spools up rather quickly (not that concerned with lag, but it would be nice if it was minimal for street use) and something that still produces power. also price point is nice, for something that spools up close to a apex or xs turbo and produces power like a t78 thats why i chose it. this is all what i came up with from doing a little search and knowing what i want.

You know everyone wants to know how all these turbos do at 15psi and up..but what about at just 10psi? How many have a broad enough efficiency range that they could make decent hp at lower boost settings yet they still have the ability to be cranked up (and run above 70%) at elevated boost levels?

Agreed,
Single turbos should be running 15+ psi except for maybe the HKS T04E kit. 10psi and you will be out of the effeciency rating for most of the single turbos.
At 10 psi, the stock twins would probably be better.
But I will admit I do run 10 psi sometimes but that is on 89 octane fuel. I really don't need to run much more... there might be 3 street cars in all of Korea that can outrun me at 10 psi.

If you're a regular roadracer, 15psi is too much unless you have the funds/time to replace your engine every 20K miles or less. Another RX7 owner is running a TO4S at 10psi, 360rwhp, and it's nice and safe for a day's track driving and dicing it up with Z06's and the like. I guess my goals are to obtain the highest hp levels at the lowest boost levels. What good is 450rwhp at 17psi going to do me on the track when I have to come in every 5 laps to let the car cool down?

I've yet to dyno over 10psi, but I made 372rwhp at 10lbs of boost. Dave at KDR was very impressed. I have not had the funds to dyno tune lately. Demetrios (Reactive Racing) tuned me at 13lbs on the street with his Motec wideband and it runs better then ever.
Im getting 850cc primaries soon so I will be tuning with race gas at 25lbs of boost. I hope to do this within the next month.

I would have to say I'm with Michel, on this one.
I would like to have a setup that I could run at 10 psi and make around 350 hp. This would be great for Auto-X, track events, daily driving.
Then I could have 15 psi, for messing with things on the street.
Making 400 hp.
And a high setting of 20 psi on race gas for drag events (maybe 6-8 a year) that would put out 450 hp.
I couldn't see myself needing anymore than that.
I just want one of these BB turbo's that could meet these needs and spool up quick as well.

glass man is on point with the numbers. so far i've been pretty happy with the results. ihor, silver93tt is running the exact setup as mine, except with a big ported motor. i think he will dyno this week.
i will dyno again mid to late august with more boost and more fuel. i will keep you updated.
