kkk-K27 question

What kind of HP will a kkk-k27 suport?? ( with in reason ) I have looked though the old threads. But i just cant find any solid info on these turbos. Like any compressor maps or flow info at all.

Even if its an educated guess. Im not going to hold you to it. I just need a ball park range.

thanks

Adam

The Turbo is good for 450-475 to the rear wheels, <-- if you are willing to take that chance. 20PSI + I am guessing. The car you are referring to has all the supporting mods to handle this amount of power. However, understand, that reliablity can be inversely proportional to boost level.

Really what is important on this turbo is how efficent and fast spooling it is. I was putting down 360RWHP at 12PSI with full boost at 3K RPMS, and it held till redline. At 15PSI I am putting down 400RWHP with full boost at 3300-3400RPMS. That is no small feat.
Another thing on these turbos is that there are several rebuilders and people who can modify them. Check out http://www.atpturbo.com/root/releases/release021505.htm for some trick things they are doing with turbo. There are also many rebuilders who can modify this turbo for more power, if that is what you after.

Also, check out http://home.att.ne.jp/omega/hipogtr/...t3/TboComp.jpg It is not much, but it does have an output sheet for the KKK27. In this case the MOJ3470.

i had a k27 i was going to use one time... but the exhaust housing on it was weird... so i didnt end up using it. did not match up to a t4 manifold.. you can see in the second pic.. so be careful when you get one of these.

wasnt talking about downpipe. the ports dont match up on the MANIFOLD

i kind of drew on it with a marker where t4 manifold ports would be.

The ports match up fine if the manifold flange is intended for a KKK Turbo. If you are piecing together a kit you will need the correct flange. A T4 will not match up.

I have the blitz kit. It comes with a KKK27 MOJ 3470 Turbo. I have been very pleased with the setup. It put's 360 to the rear wheels at only 12PSI, and 400RWHP at 15PSI.

i had a kkk k28 (just KKK) it had a big exhaust housing but the rear wheel was too restrictive so i ditched it for a to4e/66 the kkk made 320rwhp on 18psi and the to4e makes 366rwhp on 13psi. and yes i found out the stud pattern is different so i had to weld another t4 flange on with the right studs

My 400RWHP pull was done at 15.5PSI, with a true blue triple K27. The graph that darkphantom posted up is from a SR MOTORSPORTS HOLSET. That is a completely different turbo From mine. The K27 I have is used primarily on Porsches, and Audi's. Blitz designed a kit for the RX 7 that came with the K27 turbo. That is what is on my car.

Anyways here is the link to my run, and before anyone points it out, the AFR's are off by one full point on the dyno. I am in the low 11's across the board.
