Exclamation intake for T04R

I need a intake filter similar in size of the HKS "mushroom" filter.

I measured the size I need..

turbo inlet: 4"
height: 3" - 3.5"
diameter: 4" - 5"

I can find one with these dimensions (or somthing close). My radiator hose for my Koyo isn't letting me put on the Blitz SUS I had on before.. its way to long.

I found a K&N but wasnt sure if it would fit well with a turbo... its the RU-2510... its a regular filter WITHOUT the conelike filter like the Blitz.. im guess that will affect how the turbo takes in air and spools up for some type of incorrent pressure being built up because of the K&N's form?.... Dono, but was just thinking of that.

Also.. I was thinking about the HKS mushroom type as it should be a perfect fit.... but I cant find anyone that just sells that, and not a kit for a specific car. I checked HKS's website and it shows the filter itself, but has two different sizes, and not sure if 100mm one (http://hksusa.com/products/?id=788) would fit. If it does then ill just pick it up from http://www.sp-power.com/catalog/prod...ducts_id=10057

Help me out?!?!

Since you are in LA you should try Autobacs they had the HKS 100mm universal mushroom filter in stock last time I was there. Also optauto.com has it as well.

Sorry you need the 100mm inlet size filter which has a 200mm filter element. Part number is 70019-BK006.

is that 3-3.5" the max room you have?

S&B has inverted cone filters like K&N (I like them better personally), and they make ones with a 4" inlet and as short as 5". They are still pretty big.

Also, are you going straight off of the compressor housing with the filter? Another option you have is to get a 4" straight silicone coupling and get a 4" 45* aluminum bend, then put the filter on that.

This is the cheapest place I have found for buying tubing and bends... http://www.globaltecheng.com/Product...&idproduct=816

EDIT**
You could also do it the reverse way and get a 45* 4" coupling and a straight piece of tubing.

Here is a picture of what my T04R looked like on my old car..

Works fine, and is the shortest filter with a 4" inlet that i've ever seen. I personally had no issues with air flow interruption on the T04-R, but I don't know how you'd figure that out anyways

It filters, it fits, what more do you want?

I believe cone filters like the one O110MP has... same witht he HKS ones

not sure... im afraid that if I get the regular K&Ns, it wont flow well enough or creates some type of pressure in the inlet that its not supose to haha.... dono.. just instinct telling me

Well whatever you think man. I'm just saying I ran that filter on that turbo with no such issues like you're thinking and there's many other members here (goodfella comes to mind) that run the same filter with no problems.

But do what'cha want man

I ran that short K&N filter on my T04R. It fit nicely, but I had my doubts on it restricting airflow.

Well, last time on the dyno, we got up to around 20psi. After a few runs, I looked at it to inspect it, and the filter was tearing apart at the base(rubber part)....Its a good thing that I caught it, or else it would have been eaten by my turbo.

My plan is to route an intake tube somewhere, then run a filter on the end of that.
I'd also recommend using a T-bolt clamp if you are running the filter directly on the compressor inlet. Worm clamps will aid in cutting the rubber, and allow it to tear easily.

My .02 from someone that's been there, done that.
