turblown makes a custom bracket for their IWG turbo manifold... but it's stupid expensive for what it is... and I'm not sure it'll work with the clocking of whatever manifold you're using.

EFR IWG Rx7 Turbo Manifold

EDIT: here is the picture of it:

It is actually the most cost effective unit on the market. It takes 4 hours to hand make one. That is over $300 at a shop. It is not a flat piece of steel and it must align the wg properly or you will wear out the actuator.

Yeah I think its easy to make and it wont take 4 hours with the engine out of the car, at least if u want something funtional that doesnt have to look as pretty as that above.

Yeah, something like that simple bracket would probably take me 8hrs including rooting around the scrapyard to find the piece of stainless and making it look nice in the end.

If its something you enjoy and you have the time, that is great.

If you want to race next weekend, its awesome Turblown offers the piece at $200.

We can see its bent.

It is just a vice and Harbor Freight monster crescent wrench away from flat.

And probably hours of trial and error to get the angle right. The point is that its not a simple matter of getting a piece of steel cut to shape with a water jet. I'm not saying one couldn't make it on their own if they were so inclined, I'm simply pointing out that the price point isn't as ridiculous as people think.

I didn't mean to throw turblown under the bus by any means. I was just managing expectations.

My time is also worth money, which is why I currently have one on the way from turblown lol

I hope I didn't come off as too harsh. My more polite opinion is that the time to figure out the exact angle and such may be more than a mass produced part with the r and d costs amortized over numerous parts. Plus they do a good job of making it pretty.

I built mine in about an hour out of some plate steel. 30-40 minutes cutting out the shape and drilling the holes and the rest of the time was spent bending it until the wastegate canister lined up perfectly. It's not the prettiest but it's hidden anyways. I have pictures somewhere but I'm on my phone.

first test drive today for me, but only at spring pressure at 10psi. No creep at all. I agree, the power band is now a lot like my WRX too haha. More boring actually and not the typical sling-shot feeling i would get from my old turbo (60-1, p-trim), although peak power seems to be about the same.. maybe 300whp. you can really hear the anti-surge housing working at part throttle! I would like to turn up the boost, but not sure how hard I can push it on 9.4 rotors and pump gas

You should be fine at 12-13psi at 9.4:1. I've been running a GT4088R at 12 psi on 9.7:1 rotors and 93oct for a while and up 17psi with a little water meth. Get a nice water meth kit and never look back!

I'm on pump/17psi and 270kw, it's definitely anything but boring!

Here is my dyno at 10psi. i still have a 3" cat on it and 9.4 rotors. needs more boost! and maybe lose the cat

THis was on my FD, but comparing to my old BNR stage III FC TII dyno at 15psi, they both had same peak power, but EFR makes it with 5psi less boost. and at 3000rpm the EFR makes about 50 more hp. awesome

Is it a " high flow " cat? A back to back would be pretty could with just an open downpipe. A cat should kill ANY boost creep. What manifold are you using?

Looks like he just let off early. I tuned one of our 7670 iwg kit todays and it does not drop off like that. Boost pressure and torque curve do start to fade after 6k rpms...

Had the opportunity to run against an EFR 7670 FD at DGRR over the weekend in my FD still on the sequential system

His setup:
EFR 7670, 10 psi, cosmo irons all else stock porting, high compression rotors, bolt-ons... Dyno'd 300 rwhp at 10 psi. Hits max boost around 2000 rpm.

My setup
Stock seq. twins. PFC, PFS intercooler, RB exhaust, stock everything. Low boost around 11-12 psi and high boost around 14-15.

First run was a 4th gear pull at 2000 rpms. I selected high boost this run and walked away from him rather quickly.

2nd run was the same 4th gear pull at 2000 rpms but this time in low boost. Was a lot closer, he actually out spooled the first turbo by about a car length then when the second turbo came online it looked like I was starting to reel him back in..we ran out of road.

Random 3rd gear pulls in high boost seemed to favor the twins and on low boost went to the driver.

In summary it definitely is a quick spooling setup but it gives up the ghost up top without really turning up the boost. Would be a nice exchange for the twins if wanting to simplify the setup.
