im sorry, but I have a question
ok first off, im sorry for asking this question, I just got my rx7 a few weeks ago and am ready to start modifying it. I have alot of funds in the bank over the last few years to apply to this process.
so, if I wanted to make 650+ HP what kind of parts am I looking at getting? Like I said I have the money I just need a parts list. This car will be built for both track and street use if that helps.
again, I'm sorry for asking questions, any help is appreciated though
....I've heard I could get ahold of a 20B and modify it to meet that with more ease and more reliability than the 13b. Is there any truth to this?

I want to be able to get out of my car after I get done driving it and say "damn, that was fast as hell"
daily [not going a long distance, just maybe to and from college and to a friends house at most]
I'm willing to spend whatever it might take to get this accomplished. I have the money, I just need the parts is all.
and where would I purchase this 4 rotor kit you speak of? I just thought there was a 20b tri rotary?

Maybe you could implement a displacement on demand to achieve better mileage.

so with this 4 rotor kit I just install into the existing 13b and this should give me my desired hp or what? it really didn't give me a straight answer on what else I would have to do to it [turbo and other upgrades and such]

heres a motor that will do it
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...&highlight=20b
throw another 4-6k for a proper EMS and pro-tune
another 5+k for upgrades to your driveline you should be getting close

the reason for editing the 55k out was that I didn't want to seem like I was bragging about having the money and seeming snobby if that makes any sense.
and is that a 13b engine with the 3 rotar kit on it or is that a 20b?

so it is the peripheral ported 20b with turbo? if so it is nice, I might take that up with him. anyways, if that doesn't go through I can always just get a 20b and put it in and upgrade from there as I see necessary.
so on the 3 and 4 rotor kit from kiwi is it pretty much the same thing just on a 13b or no?
sorry about all the questions just trying to get it all sorted out.

Don't know how far you are from Atlanta, but I would suggest trying to contact Jim Downing on Tuesday (since he won't be there tomorrow) http://www.downingatlanta.com/index.htm
As he could help point you in the right direction.

its funny cause I cant tell if these guys are serious. Call up Cameron at Pettit. http://www.pettitracing.com/
Since you have the money, let a pro do the 20B swap for you. You'll get 600+ rwhp easily. Just a question: have you ever felt 600rwhp? what about 400 cause 400 is still frieghtenly fast?
Not trying to be an ***, but at only 18, 600 whp will kill you. If you want the same kind of thrill, get a liter bike and ride around wot with no helmet

Okay... a 13B, a 20B, and a 26B are all three different engines.
You cannot put 3 rotors in a 13B, a 13B is a 2-rotor engine. Likewise, if you go above 2 rotors, you will not have a 13B in your car.
Just so you know, 650rwhp on a rotary is not going to be fun. You're not going to be able to just mosey around as you could in a 650rwhp V8.
And if you have limited knowledge on these cars, it would not be a wise decision to start driving one around with that much power. Stuff will break, no matter how much money you put into building it.
You should spend a good amount on a 20B with a decent sized turbo, do a fairly conservative port (large streetport maybe? Just stay away from a peripheral port.. that's just ridiculous, especially for a "street" car), and then overdo all of the rest of the car's systems. AI, dual oil coolers (if you're in an FD), top-of-the-line EMS, top-of-the-line tune, et cetera.
Honestly, 650rwhp isn't going to yield a street car. It's going to yield an annoyingly unstreetable, incredibly fast tin can that will inevitably hit a brick wall. You should lower your goals. Spend a ton on the body/paint, have an unordinary engine (20B) with unordinary mods (even for a 20B), and ride around in one of the coolest cars on the road.

But, that's not going to be a very fun daily driver to pick chicks up in and drive to school.

But the intent of you post is right on. Wanting a 650 HP rx7 at 18 to drive around on the street is the automotive equivelent of learning to ride motorcycles on a turbo hayabusa.

If you want to go 20B make sure you have teh funds (custom eshaft, etc.). If you want 600WHP I recommend a turbo of some sort. Alot of aftermarket support for single and twins.

rx7_guy123:
Before you get all crazy with your HP goals I HIGHLY suggest taking a ride in a fast boosted rotary if you never have.
I'm doing some major work to my car(FC Vert), shooting for 4-500 whp. The fastest rotary car I had been in previously was a 275hp FC. While my car is being built the guys at A-spec decided to give me a taste of what to expect. They took me out in a 488HP @ 18psi with H2O injection FD. Its was shockingly fast. While this experience has made me excessivley eager to get my car on the road and tearing it up, it has also brought a realization. It has made me realize that I'm going to have to baby my car, take things slow, and get some serious off street practicing before I am comfortable to push it a bit on the street, otherwise my car will kill me! I want to live to see my 20b FD project(that I just started) come together!
If you do go forward with your plans, please be safe! With big power comes big risks.
