hx55 too big? yay or nay

hx55 too big? yay or nay

okay so here is the deal i can get a freshly rebuilt hx55 turbo is it wayy to big? will it only make boost at 6k+?

or am i just dreaming?

Well it depends what your power goals are how your motors setup and what your using it for what boost level you plan to run what fuel what exhaust manifold. Basically theres alot of things to take into consideration. I do believe theres somone running one on here they will probably chime in.

Also depends what housing etc.

I had a 16cm version of what most seem to call a HX52 (though seen it called HX50 and 55) and that was fine even on a 2.5 litre 6cyl, but you can find them with mega housings, like 32cm etc, at that wont be so good...

Also, if its like mine and many others, its T4 flange but 2 of the bolts are slightly further out than a normal T4, meaning you have to elongate the holes a little.

the hx55 is a totally different turbo from the 50 or the 52. it comes with a 22cm2 housing which is kinda laggy but good for top end power.
