Grind down your welds to make them pretty is a sure fire way of ruining a manifold

I'll take one after I take it off. I'm so fed up, gonna have A-Spec build me one instead.

Tried doing some tuning today but the E85 smoke was killing me.

So, you ground down the welds too? I attemped to patch the holes, but I ground the welds down so thin......... I would literally blow big ol holes in the metal because I ground the metal down so thin.

Lol only you would start this thread. It is the fact you started with such thin material. The thing would have failed in no time with the welds ground down. People (I have been guilty myself) usually do this on IC piping trying to make them look all smooth. Then they fail quickly because it is hard to tell just how far you've ground down. You need to start with thicker material to be able to remove the welds. Let me know if you want nice looking welds or no welds. I can make it either way....

I like the looks of that first manifold you posted. But, I could care less about looks now, I just want something that's built right

Shoot me your address, I'll drop a box in the mail tommorow morning.

I did exactly what Sean explained on one of my intake tubes. The first sign I was having trouble was when my thumb sank into the tube because it was so thin.

Reminds me of a story I heard about the old Trans Am series. It was illegal, but it was common to acid dip the bodies to thin the sheetmetal and lower the weight. On this particular car, a tech inpector leaned his elbow on one of the cars, and the roof was so thin, his elbow sank right into it. "Er, boys . . . I think we have a problem here."

Yeah, I've heard about people acid dipping bodies along with taking hole saws to cars. Kinda Funny........

Well, Aspec is building me a manifold as we speak. So, atleast I won't have to worry about that anymore.

Thanks Sean
