how do you think this would work

hey guys...my buddy is selling his turbo from his s2000

specs are:
.63 ar t3 backside with the 5 bolt flange. front side is a .70 ar housing with a 62-1

i want to be making about 400 hp, i'll have 1600 cc secondaries, vmount set up, apexi pfc, and all that good supporting mod stuff

but i want to have relatively good spool time...i'd say i want to be at full boost before 4k...how do you think this would work...you think this turbo will do what i'm looking for?

Your not going to be making 400 hp with that T3 0.63 A/R. It's going to be a HUGE restriction.

my friend wants $600 for it, its a garrett...he was making 420 hp off it in his s2k

think its a good idea to pick it up and change the a/r? or is it not worth it

if i do change the a/r what do you think i should go with?

You will be able to buy a new 62-1 for 600 plus the cost of a new exhaust housing... Shoot I'll sell you my 62-1 with a proper T4 exhaust housing for 600 maybe less. No screwing around with a T3 housing...

Yeah dont even think about a t3. Like everyone said there is a lot of restriction associated with them and with that also comes more HEAT. Which we all know rotarys dont need more of.

It's got too small of a hot side. Swapping out turbine housings wont fix the fact that it has a T3 turbine wheel in it.

it will be lacking in top end due to exhaust restriction. 4 cylinder turbos are usually too small. Rx-7's do better with turbos that you would normally find on a medium sized single turbo inline 6 setup.
