Yes, apparently 27psi on pump with no AI. The car felt insanely angry as usual, peeling the 255 rears right through 2nd and part of 3rd until the clutch (ACT HDSS) maxed out and silpped til I let off. The car drove normally back home even with a few WOT pulls in 2nd. I had no Idea that I could have lost my engine tonight, however, I did say a prayer before I left home. I noticed a damp area beneath the front bumper before I left home, but did not investigate.

Since I got home I did start it a few times, and it starts and idles fine.
I guess the angels were with me tonight.
By the way this is homemade preturbo kit I put together a few years ago, and it works well. I changed out a faulty solenoid last weekend and forgot to put on zip ties.

Tomorrow zip ties, zip ties, and more zip ties.

It would have exploded if you had traction and were in 4th gear. The engine isn't loaded hard when the tires, and clutch are spinning. I also assume it was rich, and have close to no timing in it.

^^ I agree.
Actually its tuned, and I was out fine tuning that area of the map. Its still a little rich at about 10.3 afr at 7500rpm. I would like to see 10.5 - 10.9 in the 7500 - 8500 range. Air temps were 117F and timing was 4.5* at that boost.

Glad you lucked out!

This is the same reason I don't use vinyl push on line. WI becomes as essential as oil at those levels. -4AN fittings with pushlock line all around.

Your mixtures saved you but as per the other comment about having it loaded up in 4th gear, this would have definitely killed it.

550cc/min is not very much water at that boost level, especially on pump.

Thats quite a bit pre turbo. Ive ran no more than 200cc pre turbo and then added a second nozzle at the Tb elbow.
I agree 500cc is not enough for that boost level and petro

I'm now running a AEM large nozzle 550+ pre turbo and a CM7 500+ post IC, with 18-24 psi and it doesn't seem to be a problem, running good, but I haven't had it on a dyno yet since my engine rebuild.

Yea I'd love to see some dyno numbers, I'm using a CM 7 (10gph) at the throttle body elbow. Hopefully that's enough for my setup @23-24psi.

To the OP: Are you running any kind of progressive setup or just a boost switch?

very lucky as if you had traction in a 3rd or 4th pull it would have detonated right away. i ran out of meth once at the top of 4th and it detonated before i could let off, but the good old super seals took it as usual. what apex seals are you running in there?

I need to correct myself here. Above, I stated that I inject 550cc's, this is at 20psi (bench tested). Since I now run as high as 27psi, that amount of water injection has increased.

I have a very simple system which is triggered by my ecu (Haltech E8) to switch on at 6-7 psi. It is progresssive in a way, because the water pressure at the nozzle is proportional to boost pressure.

I once ran a larger jet and noticed a spool was slower. I didnt run a progressive kit and prob should have.
I last ran 200cc preturbo and 700 a the throttle body.
Gotta LOVE RA's apex seals!

I run 350cc pre turbo and 800cc post of pure M1 meth no water at only 15 psi. Bitch screams to 9k RPMs with out a hiccup. Since my car is running so damn well I haven't turned up the boost. A lot of people say its bad for me to run alcohol but I've been running it for over a year now with 0 issues and plenty of abuse and still motor is healthy.

Ive always been leery of running anything over a 50/50 ratio with meth and pre turbo. Always nervous it can ignite.

Fuel or Chemical Autoignition Temperature
Gasoline, Petrol 535F VS Methanol Methyl Alcohol 878F
It can happen but it's unlikely I think.

Is the ratio of air to methanol even flammable at 350cc pre-turbo?
