HKS Wastegate mounting

Hey guys,
I'm in the process of mounting my HKS standard wastegate to my SFP manifold. It has a flange with the raised ring just like the one shown in this pic http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=807

When i bolt the wastegate to this, the valve in the wastegate will be forced back about a 1/4" -of course it will still form a seal -but, am I supposed to use a spacer here? I'm worried that when the wastegate closes rapidly, it will slam into this raised portion on the flange.

thanks!

It is supposed to. That is the valve seat. Steel is tough...
