Question Hks T51r

JUST WONDERING WHAT YOU GUYS THINK OF THE HKS T51R
TURBO KIT... MY FRIEND HAS ONE ON HIS SUPRA RUNNING AB0UT 22PSI, MAN THIS THING IS SICK!!!
PLEASE LET ME KNOW ANYTHING AT ALL THAT YOU HAVE HEARD... IS THE T78/T88 AN EQUAL REPLACEMENT?

ALSO IF ANYONE IS SELLING THERE 7 AROUND THE NEW YORK AREA OR ON THE EASTER SEABOARD PLEASE LET ME KNOW....

ACTUALLY MY FRIENDS TURBO KIT KICKS IN RATHER EARLY... AT CLOSE 4500 HE IS AT FULL BOOST., I HEARD SOMEWHERE THAT THE SPECIFIC TURBO IS ONE OF THE MORE EFFICENT TURBOS AROUND...IS THIS TRUE...

I know the Supra you're talking about with that T51R turbo setup, the owner is a very good friend of mine. As far as lag goes compared to the supra, it'll spool a little quicker on a rotary due to the exhaust pulses being stronger on a rotary motor than a piston motor. This turbo is really good and efficient at high boost. The efficiency and spooling of this turbo is about equal to a T88 turbo from Greddy.

Actually I was refering to Albert's car, not Johns. Albert's Supra has the same type of turbo setup and that's why John bought a T51R for his supra(too bad about what happened, we told him not to go to _______ to get his work done, but hey **** happens, I know of a 93 RX for sale, it needs a little tlc though, but the price is worth it, let me know if you're interested.

ill say it again after HAVING EXPERIENCE with this turbo on my car....
The car will not be streetable
The car wont be fun to drive in traffic

I suggest this turbo to only drag racers

if you get the BB one it will spool fine but you got to have go to the HKS forum and post it so they can show the guys in japan to send some are way............

lol!!!! yep, i remember sitting in the passenger side counting 3-4 seconds b4 the beast came on. the lag on that thing is just WAY too much for street. I'll pass.

yeah, you're right. as soon as the boost hit, it was all over. that ****** pulls so ****** hard like there is no tomorrow. like Poweraxel saids, it's strictly for drag racing and not street.
