HKS Manifold.

What is the Largest Turbo that could be run on a HKS T4 manifold on a FD (13b-rew Engine)?

I remember reading a while back that some one had tried to fit a T66 on one and the Comp Housing caught the Inlet manifold? I am not sure if it was the same Manifold though as i looked at many and it was along time ago.

The Manifold is'nt fitted at the moment, i had thought of putting it on with a T04E thats knocking around and measuring the free space but i would not be much better of as i dont know how much wider the T66 is?

The other option thats in the Pipe line is to fit a T04S?

Cheers

Chris

You can get a spacer (either custom, or I believe HKS actually sells one) and fit a larger hotside on there with little or no problems. I've seen it done on an FC, but not personally on an FD.

I am a little confused?

Is it the Turbo to Manifold clearance that is the problem or is it the clearance of the Engine?

There should really be no issues with using a t04 based exhaust side with that manifold on an FD. The clearance issues are when you go to a large frame turbo like the T66.

Re: HKS Manifold.

The manifold you posted is for FC.

The HKS cast manifold for the FD can only fit up to 0.84 on the turbonetic turbo but if you have a Garrett turbo, it can fit 1.15. The reason is the turbonetic turbine housing has thicker casting. Given the same a/r, the turbonetic turbine housing is bigger than the garrett one on the outside.

Just buy my kit and save the headache. =)
