HKS GT60 Wastegate Plunger Pics
Can you guys post some pics of the plunger side of the HKS wastegate. I got mine a while back and now that I'm using it I'm having problems building boost. I changed out the spring for a 14# to a 5# and still have to get on the throttle pretty hard to hit 5#'s.
I understand it has a lot to do with the turbine size and that is not the problem. I just want to see if other HKS gate's seal the plunger against the housing or if there is a huge gap like there is around mine which HKS says is normal but Innovative for instance, says and I've seen theirs, that the plunger seats fully against the housing.
Thanks

The valve does not seat against the housing, there is a seat which is an intergal part of the flange(which is welded to your exhaust manifold) that the "plunger"(valve) seats against. the two parts are attached with a V-Band. If you remove the WG from the manifold, it looks like it cannot seal, but it does, just not against the housing. The ~3/16" gap is normal. Carl

Thank you Carl.
As it turns out, I took my intake off and my turbo bearing and shaft are shot on a new turbo. Plenty of shaft play and oil is leaking out the dump pipe and the car burns oil like crazy so time for a bearing rebuild... *sigh* I was hoping that was not the problem but apparently it is.
