I use Valvoline TCW-3 Ashless 2 stroke oil that I've found at a couple of the local auto stores. The car will still smoke with it even though it's no ash. I run ~4 ounces for every 10 gallons or 1oz every 2.5 gallons
I also have the omp hooked up correctly

I have omp, but I run pre-mix also.
I use 2 stroke motorcycle oil.

I use the factory OMP + 1/2 ounce of Penzoil Marine Outboard Motor 2 stroke oil per 1 gallon of pump gas.

What is the point of using premix and keeping the OMP? Seems a bit redundant.

Added protection I suppose. I know guys who run the omp and not premix, but on track days run both just to be sure. I do it too, that way if the OMP poops itself the motor won't poop itself. Oh by the way my half bridge rules. Carry on

Haltech doesn't run the OMP so yes, I use ~1oz/gal premix as well.

Putting oil in will increase emissions. Don't you think Mazda probably had to make some compromise there? In my opinion, even a STOCK RX-7 should run a bit more than the stock OMP dishes out.... Plus with increased HP, you need an extra bit of protection. That's why I run both.

I'm using Idemitsu, 1/2 oz per gal. The engine seems to run smoother with the Idemitsu than with the other premixes I've used.

Does running premix affect your power output? I am asking because when I mix too much oil in my Banshee it runs worse (like rich). It seems the less oil that I mix in, the faster it goes, but it is safer reliability wise to mix more. What if I just add a tiny bit with each fill up, since I still have the OMP? Is that better than nothing? Thanks.

Hi guys
Most people use , as i read from the forum ...without the OMP : One ounce of oil -- for 1 gallon of gas . I know that , one gallon is 3.8 litr , but how much is ...one ounce in gram/lit ?
Thanks.
