Question Help with Turbo........

Hello,

I have access to a Turbo it's a T04 B25, Inlet says .60 outlet say 1.15. Is this a good Turbo for a Half Bridge motor? How many horses can this Turbo put out?
Anymore info would be apprectated.

Thanks

That's a T04B of some sort... Looks like a rather large wheel, so I'm guessing it's either a T04B H-trim wheel or a Super H-trim...? If it is either, it should be able to flow enough for almost 380-ish rwhp. However, since you're running a half bp, I'm guessing you're looking for more than this turbo can offer.

You never stated what your looking to get out of your combo, so I'll assume here......

1st.... your running a half bridged turbo motor so i'm assuming your looking for excess of 450 hp + at the wheels. Otherwise you should of gone with a street port. Actually I would go with a street port for up to 500 rwhp personally. Blah blah yadi yadi about the bridge making gobs more torque and spooling faster then a street port, (yes it does) but those things do not like to cruise anything below 2500 rpm without bucking and missing and the gas mileage SUCKS. Some if not all can be tuned out with the addion of some other tricks like modding the throttle body butterflies etc.

2nd, now that I am assuming your looking to make LARGE amounts of power due to your decision in going half bridged, this turbo is way too small. i wouldn't use this for a half bridged 12a let alone 13b. The absolute smallest I'd go for a half bridged is 60-1 ~ 62-1 comp wheel.

3rd, if this turbo can be had for a GREAT deal, then get it and upgrade the comp wheel and housing more suitable for your motors breathing needs, or buy the propper turbo to begin with.

This particular T04B, if it is infact a "S" trim is very very small and you'd be lucky to get 350 out of it (more like 300). on a half bridge this thing wouldnt even pump out 10 psi without falling on its face and pumping HOT air into your engine. It does however look bigger then a "S" trim, do you have accurate measurements of the inducer and exducer of the comp wheel? Even if you do, this turbo isnt a good choice for a half bridge. (unless you keep it at a low 5~9 psi, but then whats the point of having a half bridge?).

Is it worth it to upgrade it to 62-1 or am I better off buying a turbo? Keep in mind this turbo will not cost me anything. How much would such an upgrade cost?

thanks
