i want to make single turbo conversion....
but i drive a single FD...i don't like it
maybe because have high torque at high rpm...
what is the best turbo to make a high torque at low-mid rpm?
for ex. Apexi D1 Fd have 50 kg with APEX RX6 TCW76-P27(Boost set @ 1.0kg/cm2)
or JIC rx-8 (13B engine) have a T04Z A/R .60....had big torque at 4000 rpm...

 

I think you already pointed out what you need.

Also what power level are you looking for ? assuming the norm 400 hp at 1 bar .

Where power comes into play is not just the turbo, but exhaust and IC setup and tune.

But taking into account turbos, go with with a standard and not too big of a AR example.

TO4S with .70 front cover and T4 .96 dividided ( if exists ) .
GT35R same specs as above
a T61

even the to4Z as you stated with a smaller exhaust side ( .84 divided or .96 ) and a good DP and exhaust.
Or if on budget a TO4R

 

if i do a single conversion 500+ hp is the target....
my exhaust is 3"
my i/c is hks type R 600 mm x 296 mm x 106 mm

I believe it was 1.6 bar.

well for 500hp you will need a bigger turbo and or higher boost. you get to choose.

bigger turbo= laggier

higher boost = higher octance gas or AI .

If its a track car, might as well go with a 4" Downpipe , exhaust also wouldnt hurt and get a TO4Z or a GT4094R make sure divided turbine housing and a good divided manifold .
