I never saw that 0.85 AR V-Band/IWG housing before, was just on BW site the other day and it wasn't and hasn't ever been listed there, just the same in EWG only

anyway I'm seriously entertaining this idea using this turbo with a 4-port JDM 13B-MSP Renesis engine now for a street turbo RX-8 as I mentioned over in the other thread.

I think that would be pretty awesome except the side seals/springs may not last that long (well, same life as with Greddy turbo kit). Would this be E85? I would imagine that would help (lower EGTs).

Any reason not to use an old REW? The swap parts to put it in RX-8 are pretty cheap and available now!

Yes, I know REW is pretty much fail proof, but have specific reasons for wanting to do the 4-port Reni instead. Yes, E-85. Goal is as was stated previously; super zippy street RX8 run-about, good off-idle response, quick boost, max low-end TQ, 7500 rpm red-line, thinking maybe 330-350 rwhp peak but not a goal, just there for the occasional zoom-zoom if needed .... not intended as a track car or to ride the red-line/far RH mass flow area continuously., V-mount IC out the hood, minimal length turbo-IC-IM piping, bells & whistles, full quality build, OBD2 compliant with Cobb AP and Adaptronic universal modular ECU, uber hi-flo cat.

still just a concept at the moment though ...

Comparatively speaking it's fairly accurate, but many Reni turbo attempts are poorly executed imo ... maybe I'll learn otherwise ..

Well I think we’re going to find out. I started a thread on my ideas for this on RX8Club about a week ago and am pretty sure this is going to proceed with a build project using the 4-port Renesis with the 5-spd manual trans and a custom lowmount EFR 7173 V-band IWG. Also a universal Adaptronic modular piggybacked with the factory pcm for OBD2 compliance.

This engine/trans combination was never available in North America, but most other markets. Just the 4-port automatic transmission version from 2004 - 2005. The RX8 5-spd transmission is the FD3 gearset/center casing fitted with RX8 specific bell and tailhousings. Might do a Par-Engineering helical/synchro gearset since this would be a street car based build. Not sure if I can afford it right away though, lol.

This will be a high level build, not some used parts thrown together in a carport. The builder is pushing me to use the Iannetti Gold ceramic in RX8 rotors EDM cut for the deeper RX7 2mm apex seal size. I already have a set of same except steel has that are new and coming to the markket soon that are supposedly good for 25 psig boost with a super high quality, low cost level, great rotor housing wear characteristics that other steel seals have issues with that is going to blow everything else out of the water. I not at liberty to say more, but the company is well known and without question ...

My builder has some specific reasons for wanting Iannetti Gold over the steel seal, which the Gold version is their high boost application. Innatti silver are the NA seals. If they break though the results will be even more catastrophic with the Renesis side exhaust ports, but he says the pro turbo race engines are using them with good results.

Cool, it will bend some minds seeing an RX-8 that has higher peak torque than peak horsepower figures (assuming you don't limit boost too low).

With E85 fuel I'm figuring around 20 psig with a 7000 - 7500 rpm redline, which fits the 7163 compressor map well, or well enough, efficiency wise. 350 rwhp max (roughly 2.5 PR @ 47 lb/min) is just an estimate, not a target. Goal is super zippy response & fat low-end TQ coming in and on as soon as possible ... I feel it has that covered well and more, but I'm not looking to set any records or to have an early catastrophic apex seal failure by pushing it out near the surge line ...
