Hey everyone this is my first time to this section. I tried to find out info on this turbo kit but nothing came up. I'm about to buy a turbo online. I wanted to know whats missing, I know forsure its missing a downpipe. Info on the kit, he said its a gt45-s type turbo charge with a 40mm sport wastegate with a 4-psi spring, comes with heavy duty STD mount manifold, SS manifold gasket, SS wastegate flange and gasket, wastegate block plate, wastegate fittings, V clamps and V band flange.Is this worth 1000$? Is that a good manifold and wastegate? Is that a good spring for the wastegate. I think its a deal. Wanted to do more HW on it but I'm scared someone will get it b4 me. Tell me what do u guys think. Yes i know i'm a nooby please dont flame me on that. thank you

 

I don't know but the gt45 is a huge turbo and I would think a 40mm wastegate with a 4lb spring is a little small no? other then that everything looks like it is there.

 

Is the wastegate pretty much useless? What would be a good size wastegate and spring? Is the turbo charge and manifold with all the lil things worth 1k?

 

Sounds way too cheap... the turbo itself should be more than 1k.

I smell scam.

 

I'm going to see it in person but either way I wouldnt know what I'm really looking at. thank you peachy for saying that charger is worth alot. If its really that one, I might just get it.

 

notice it says "gt45-s type turbo charge ". It says GT45 TYPE turbo, that means its most likely cheap chinease junk, like the manifold and waste gate. It looks to be a kit thrown together from eBay parts bin. Save your hard earned money and buy something more reliable and worth while.

Thats ebay junk. My buddy just bought the turbo for $200. I laughed at him for spending his money foolishly.

Yeah, just do a search on ebay for GT45 and you'll see that this same turbo without the kit sells for about $300. It is definately a cheap chinese made turbo. It's actually a company called Hangzhou. Here is a link. http://mgpracing.en.alibaba.com/prod...er__GT45_.html

Apparently they sell them in quantities of 50 or more. That's probably why they sell so cheap.

Not trying to start a fight.... but what makes you say the turbo is junk.
I only ask because I was almost the other bidder on this turbo kit. I was looking for something for a TII project that wouldn't run out of 20psi puff at 12000rpm and this looked like a good option

 

its junk because they are known to fall apart and break within even minutes of installing them.
