Gt42r 1.15 vs. 2 x Gt35r .82

Ok guys, A friend of mine and I were talking about a non sequential setup compared to on single turboon a drag car.Doesn't matter which car right now. Now he's saying that he thinks it doesnt make sense to go to two turbos because one turbo can dilver the same amount.

He feels that the one turbo will have the same grunt as the two turbos in both low end and top end power dilivery. I say no, It comes down to turbo selection and manifold design. Obviously , two 28r's will not match up to the one gt42r.

He also feels that because you have to divide the ehaust flow to feed each turbo, exaust pulse and velocity is lost. I agree but that is why you change your manifold design to help with flow and change the rear a/r's to compansate for the less exhaust cfm.

So here is the fun part. We both will look at the resulting numbers for our own logical setup and compare the numbers over the weekend to see who has a better flow number through out the power band at the same boost levels, whether or not the 35rs will make more power earlier than the gt42. We will see turbine rpm speed at predetermin rpm(remember I have to calculate 1/2 the exhuast cfm that will spool each turbo)
We also decided to use a 2jz motor for example but definetly a 2 rotor is acceptable.

Now Guys, I posted this for educational fun, not for dashing, so be nice.

i think that it would have to do with pushing the gt35's to higher capacity, than the gt42 at lower capacity.

Thought alot more people would have something to add.. I guess if trash talk isnt in the equation, then no one wants to talk. I will start to get info on both turbos and post them later.

I wouldnt mind hearing a thing or two from some knowledgeable guys in here.

it mostly comes down to cfm. say one turbo flows 98lbs/min and the twins only flow 90lbs/min then you have your answer. those are just random numbers... the gt42 i think only flows around 70something.
