GT35R - T3/T4 question

Can any one tell from the attached pic whether this exhaust housing is a T3 or a T4 housing?

hard to tell from the pic but the flange looks like it might be a T4, however the housing looks like a T3. Is that kit from rx7store.com?

^^ BINGO!!^^

It's one of those T4 flanged but T3 open valute turbines (non divided). And thats a SSAutoCrapper manifold with a shitty doesn't match anything T4 bolt pattern turbo flange. They made the double "D" shaped because it cost too much to make it the approriet square t4 shape.

You an expert on what that kit is capable of? I am and there is nothing wrong with that manifold or turbo. Put down 405 RWHP with that kit on a few cars. Great street kit for a good price. Many people using that manifold for years with no problems.

I didn't say diddley about what its capable of now did I? Find one thing I said that was not correct except the word "shitty" was subjective and SSAutoCrapper as being sarcastic (again, more subjectiveness).

According to my Tuning shop, the kit is from RX7Store. Im not complaining about anything, i just wanted to know what i was looking at. ive had the kit on, and at 12psi was impressed with the power delivery. i havent had it dynoed yet, since ive subsequently pulled the motor out to rebuild it and do some streetporting while im at it.
hoping to get to 400rwhp on pump gas and 450rwhp with race fuel...is that too optimistic??

Though I'm no expert on that kit, others have acheived those numbers, but its pushing the turbo. 400 rwhp on a street ported 13b should be acheived at 14~17 psi, running race gas or auxiliary injection and pump gas 450 *might* be acheived from 18~24 psi. Its all predicated on tuning and other engine systems.

if im not satisfied with the power, are there any other turbo's i can bolt onto that exhaust manifold - something like a T04Z or a T78...i can use the GT35R turbo elsewhere so its not completely wasted.

The GT35R should give you around 400 RWHP on a ported motor. If you want more you could do the T04Z which will fit on that manifold and work with the downpipe you have.
