checking Garrett's site today reveals a NEW compressor map for the GT3582r and it is impressive. take a look, there is 70 pounds of air here. in rotaryland that means 527 SAE RWrotaryHP potential.

not all GT3582r models produce this output. the lower rung GT3582r (the difference apparently being the ported shroud produce less:

it isn't all top end either. note at two pressure ratios, 14.7 psi boost, there is 4 pounds more flow. that's 30 rwhp!

all the more reason to get the GT3574 option which has a 14% larger turbine wheel.

you are making 475 rw or 550 flywheel, actually deduct 10 from both as SAE hp is the norm. anyway so 465/540 on 93 octane pumpgas????

that's 3.4 hp per cubic inch. i don't care what AFR you are running. you will either have warped apex seals or broken apex seals real soon.

Howard, why do you say that he is making 3.4hp per cubic inch? I know that you come to that number if you are dividing the horsepower by 160 in^3 (2.6l), but that displacement figure is only useful as an estimation when comparing specific outputs to equivalent piston engines. A 13b has 6 combustion chambers each with 40 in^3 of displacement, which would mean that a 540bhp 13b would be making 2.25 hp/in^3, not 3.4.

I know that 2.6l is a more commonly used number for 13b displacement, but if your aim is to somehow establish an upper limit on permissible specific output, wouldn't it make sense to use the uncorrected displacement figure of 240ci rather than 160c (which is based on displacement as a function of eccentric shaft revolutions)?
