GT3540 fitting

Hi
For those who have fitted a GT3540. Did you use a gasket betwen the turbo and downpipe. My joint has blown. Should it be sealed with a gasket or just exhaust paste?
Thanks

There should be a gasket. Aspec received the wrong ones and don't have the correct ones yet. Contact whomever you purchased your kit from and request you be put on their list for the correct gasket as soon as they receive them. (I am on the list). Currently using exhaust paste and it sucks -- leaks a bit.

I'm VERY happy with the kit, the GT35/40 seems to be a near perfect street turbo for our cars. Very quick spool and plenty of top end! If you haven't already read this thread, it's worth checking out -- badog's impressions of driving my car for the first time 10 psi - 16.5psi.

I have to agree with you. The car is nice to drive with this turbo. I have the .82 exhaust side. Its very quick, minimal lag, infact I would compare it to the stock twins for initial spool up. At 2500 rpm though and above it just goes. When it spools it goes and goes. I don't even have it tuned properly yet but first impressions are good. I may have dyno sheets in a week or two.
