Just a little to cold in the garage for me. Since the weather has started to warm up I have been in the garage going threw the work that had been done. Found a few things I had to change. I know I'm not the best at wiring but I figured I could give it a shot. Ended up finding the power wire to the map sensor had fallen out. In the process of fixing the power wire the signal wire fell out. Since then I have fixed that, got rid of a bunch of ground wires that had just been thrown in and put a heat wrap on the wiring harness. I also fixed all of the vaccum lines. Since all of that has been done I went a head charged the battery and wished for the best. It payed off. The car started rite up with no problem. Yes its still running rich as hell but I am even able to drive it with no problems. Im not running any boost at this point. I still have an aqua mist kit to purchase and install. I will just have to wait for Steve to tune it now.

To make a point, I am not bashing the shop that did the work. He just didnt know a thing about an RX7. I have seen and driven a few of the cars the shop has built and tuned and they have come out great.
Wiring will get ya.

I'm re-doing my wiring right now (after I finish sound deading my car). That's a huge PITA btw......

I was doing a major engine overhaul (AI and getting ready for 20+psi) so figured good time to add in some more features into the E6X (turbo timer, stepping motor, road speed, AI control, Log the fuel press and WB analogs etc).

Here a sneak peak of my TB's I'll use to mount under the rear bins

I might use two smaller Disconnects instead of that large blue one. There will also be a connector for the chasis wiring (road speed/ign/fan/etc).

Glad to see you're starting to work on your car and learning more about it. It's not really that hard.

You sure did. It's hard to finish a project when someone has your car for over a year and when the wife lost her job.

Im still have one of the same problems with the car. Timing seems to be messed up. You can advance timing 10% and the car runs great. Then if you unplug the the trailing plugs it runs good. I just dont know.

Steve has the car in Texas right now at his shop. I know he will figure it out but I just want to know why the F*#^ its doing this. Steve hasnt had time to work on it yet due to other cars are before me.

Your setup is well documented and pretty common - I would search the haltech forum here if you're having problems.

LS1 coils are probably wired/setup wrong.

I can finally say my car runs how it should. All thanks to Steve Kan. Thank you again Steve.

The problem ended up being the wrong coils and some bad connections. The wrong connections had been all over. Mainly at the trigger pick up was the worst. I am only running 19psi right now. Steve was unable to tune it any further because of a bad spot in the transmission causing to much friction.

My thread is back!
Here we go again. So last year I made some decent power. Power I was not happy with. This last winter I decided to go with a new LIM. This summer I'm running my four ID 2200 for my secondaries and 1000cc for my primaries. The problem now is that my car won't start because of the change. To break out down I'm on need of a map so the car will at least start. I'm also in need of a tune badly. Please help me! Im getting very tired of having my car sitting in my garage.

Look at your priming map - You will mostly likely need to adjust that if you are flooding alot with larger injectors.

For when the car is running-

Easiest is to do a percentage change accross your Pre-staged section.

Figure out how much larger the primaries are (or smaller) and adjust the range by hitting "p" and input the precentage iirc.

Same for post staged section but that would be total all injectors (unless you're running the primary hold option on the PS2k).

- your 0,500,1k fuel maps do nothing for starting your car btw - once the ecu detects the car is running it uses those maps - (rpm based and setable).

I made 480 whp and 430 tq.

Jason I would love to do that but that's out of what I know what to do. My luck I would completely screw it up.

You're running a Haltech now, right? We're ID dealers and very familiar with them on rotaries. Email us your map and setup details and we should be able to get you a decent starter map. Fullfunctioneng@gmail.com

Steve Kan has my car up and running. He was able to log into my ecu by using teamviewer. It was pretty interesting. I now have to try and get the car down to him for a full tune. Im just hoping that I will finally see the power that I've been wanting.

Sure are tough moments, hang in there as it is looking good.

I sometimes dont mind taking a break from a project, but last time I did the car sat on tha garage for over a year; Walbro fuel pump died, injectors were clogged, fuel filter useless, and it was a pita to start it with the old fuel.

Good work by the way!

big trouble in little chine

I spent the last hour reading all the thread. Sometimes too much hardware ends up with ZERO results. Take my car and my best friends for example

I have one walbro 255lt/h , 550s + 1300s , Apexi PFC , OEM ignition and a tiny HKS T04E. Since 2005 when ?I tuned the FD i have been making 461 bhp fly @ 22psi

Ok you might say this is shitty - tiny power. Ok , so :

Dual Bosch 044pumps + catch tank + dual fuel lines + Aeromotive Fuel reg etc
HKS ignition Amp
1680s x 4
Apexi power FC

565 @ 1.5 bar and 595 @ 1.65 bar on a GT4088 . No premix , no Water/Meth
Currently running a GT47 way over 670 fly
Still with the same ECU - ignition - fuel setup

What is my point. Simple but reliable Apexi Power FC , normal coils , HKS Ignition Amp

Have you installed transistors on the 1680s to make them work with the ECU

Sometimes going overkill in tuning parts gives NO results. That is sometimes by all means and not always...

Good luck
