Garrett gt37 diesiel turbo question

I have a gt37xxx I have pictures of the serial number and tracked it down to a turbo from an international diesel truck. T4 flange, 3.5" v band. 1.11 a/r exhaust .65 compressor housing.

I was wondering if anyone would know where I could get a flange and clamp for this turbo. I've bought a 3.5" v-band clamp http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-3...Q5fAccessories

The clamp covers the whole v-band part of the garretts hot side. If I weld on the other flange I have no room for the coupler. I don't want to hack up the hotside if all possible.

My motor set up is s5 9.7c.r rotors, 680cc /1000cc injectors, this turbo(awaiting to send it to get rebuilt and a new compressor wheel, it chipped taking it off to clock the housing.), fd fuel pump, haltech e6k, small street ported irons n/a sleeves in the exhaust still, 3" exhaust, 12.5psi wastegate, t4 I wanna say fd manifold, with 4 bolt wastegate.

I need a good base map for 680/1000cc, but probably going to put in the 550cc back into the primarys and keep the secondary 1000cc's. I know there's a base map for 550/880 on the haltech forum. But do you think this turbo would do well? I am in the process of finding a flange and clamp for this turbo, if anyone knows where to buy one please let me know.

Thanks,
Bud.

you should take it apart and measure the inducer/exduer on both compressor and turbine wheels. That'll give you a better idea of how this turbo will work.

I'll do that today, and repost up. But does anything have an idea for the exhaust? I need to make a down pipe and I could like to go oem v-band clamp, but can't since it is not the common small lip one.

I already have it apart, since needed to rotate the assembly to fit my set up.

Could cut the current v-band off and weld on the 3.5" flange that you bought.

No, I haven't sent it out to get rebuilt yet. I need to come up with the money first, but sending it off to precision. I would cut off the old flange, but I don't want to hack the turbo up. I'll be posting up the compressor wheel. I told precision I needed a new compressor wheel as well.

I hate to say it, but it may have been cheaper to just by a good condition used turbo. Have you got a quote from them yet?

Yes, I did. $150 for the compressor wheel, $85 for the basic rebuild, bearings gasket, balance included. Between $300-400. I just bought the turbo on Sunday, so I would would hate to eat $400.

Compressor wheel is

Inducer 56.71mm
Exducer is 76.21mm
Compressor housing is .65mm
Give or take .02mm

I will take specs of the turbine wheel in a second.

for the clamp - go to an international truck dealer - or try a ford dealership.

That compressor wheel is smaller than a GT35R. It's about the same size as T04E 57 trim, which will be good for about ~350whp max, depending on a few things. I hope it works out for you and meets your goals.

Actually, I bought different turbo set up. It would of cost the same as if I bought it. I guess decent paper weight. I'll be going with 60-1 most likely. Or something to achieve 450whp. Maybe a gt40r. or somewhere around that.

GT3776. Its unfortunate when someone buys a diesel unit for performance, only to find the compressor is too small to get anything done.
