Anyone using the Garrett GT turbo's in their FD. I am interested in one of these. Not sure which to go for though. What is the spool up like? I am getting info to sat the GT35 produces full boost by 3700 RPM with a .96 exhaust housing and will make 600Hp on 16-18 psi given everything else is fully sorted. Does that sound about right. I am looking to make less hp than that, say 400-450 rwhp and drive on the streets with some track days. I am thinking GT30 (.82 AR) or GT28 (.86 AR). Any thoughts on these.

Sorry man i dont know to much about the GT turbos.

what i do know is T04e with a 60-1 .96 Roller bearing is the nads it has the same spool up as a .89 maybe quicker if devided to.

I would think the GT 30 would be a Very quick spooling Turbo with a .86 fitted but as i say i'm more into the .96's they have beter top end power.

No way in hell that that it will make that amount of horsepower at that boost level. The GT turbos are top of the line and very very expensive but dont make that HP. A single GT35 would be too small to make that horsepower. More Like a GT66 or a GT70 would make that horsepower and I seriously doubt that any turbo will make 600hp at 18psi but unless you get the dual ball bearing than the spool up would be around 4500 rpms. GT Turbos are Bad *** but they are not SuperTurbos. I am getting a GT80 hopefully I can afford the Dual ball bearing

I am only hoping to make 400-450 rwhp. Will the GT35 in the .7 and 1.06 trim make that power. I too am hoping to go with the dual BB set-up. Is the spool up likely to be in the region of 3000rpm or higher.

There is a GT60 that would be good for that amount of HP and that turbo alone will run you in the area of $2000US (will dual ball bearing) if you are lucky and find a person that can get them. Do a little research and find a person that actually uses the GT turbos. But the spool up on the GT60 will be incredible with the dual ball bearing option. GT Turbos are for the upper class tuner

Well whaddya know! I just happen to be selling a brand new Garrett GT3540 dual ball bearing with a .70 front and 1.06 rear!

Check this out man...the guy I bought the turbo from has been running these turbos since they came out and is very experienced with them. His shop also has the world's second quickest rotary powered car (behind Siguel). He has several customers running this exact turbo, including this one:



This car has large street port, 6x850cc, Haltech E6K, Garrett GT3540, and RPM Custom FMIC (Which I also have for sale 24x13x3 core size!). It made 330kW at the wheels (449 rwhp) @ 15 psi on pump gas. Race gas and 20 psi will show 500 rwhp easy. This can all be verified by Tim @ RPM Performance Centre. Full boost is reached by 3200-3500 rpm. I will try and get a dyno graph from Tim. I saw a dyno graph of (I think) Marcus from Magnus Motorsports who runs a (very large) GT42. He made 540rwhp and runs a 10.4x. The power curve is much more linear than a conventional style turbo. Much more power is made much sooner. There isnt this 180 rwhp until 5000 rpm then BOOOOOM 710 rwhp @ 7500 rpm ****....

Also, check out this site http://www.exvitermini.com/pr33.htm This guy ran twin GT2835 on his R33 and made over 600 whp (all four wheels!). He is now installing twin GT3542's (just a lil bit bigger than my turbo) rated at 750 hp each! Look at the picture of the GT3542 compared to the Y2K! Weeee! That guy should be making 700kW at all four wheels. These turbos kick soooooo much ***!

Do you remember what you said to me before I bought my turbo? You said 'STAY AWAY FROM BALL BEARING...THEY ARE TROUBLE....COST TOO MUCH...NOT WORTH IT...'. You said 'BUY A T66' Now they are for the upper class tuner! In time...everyone will see the light! lol...I wish I could've been able to run my turbo to show everyone what these things can do! Greg...from what Tim tells me, that GT60 is a 800-900 hp turbo! Good god your car is going to be fast!

 

I may be wrong, but Greg was probably referring to the turbonetics Ball Bearing option, of which I hear is ****. But, who knows... everyone knows that Greg changes his mind more than his underwear jj

 

Yeah, he might have been talking about the Turbonetics units....buuuut, I know he knew I was looking at the Garrett GT units...

Real problem is not too many people (especially here in the US) have too much experience with these turbos.....

I have been in touch with Tim and am going to see him in May. The turbo's are comming down in price and are now only 2300 Au$. I am in the UK or may have tried to haggle hard with you (Gotboosted7). I am going to get the manifold made as well. The IC is 1200 Au$. Not sure how much you wanted. I like your turbo though. I intend to go with a similar set-up.

Well, combination of several things. First, I bought my girlfriend a $6500 ring on Sunday, March 2nd...then lost my job on Monday, March 3rd. I have no money to get the motor rebuilt, get a manifold made, etc. Plus I'm in so much debt I don't think I'll ever get out.

Cmon...somebody feel sorry for me and buy my freaking turbo!

 

How low are you prepared to go? Turbo and IC. I am checling the price with Tim.

 

Well, this is what I paid for the turbo and FMIC $4600 AUD, which is $2400 USD. I would sell both for $2200 USD plus shipping. This is the way I see it. You want to buy this turbo, it suits what you want perfectly. You also want this intercooler. I have these items, and they are brand new. So why not buy from me? My price is lower than Tim's. I don't see how he could possibly sell these turbos for $2300 AUD. It just is not possible. Besides, it takes Tim 7 days to make your IC. Mine is already made. I can ship the **** out tomorrow!

 

I don't know where Innovative Turbos got their info from, but they are NOT genuine Garrett GT turbos. Q trim option is a Turbonetics only option and so is the single bearing. True Garrett GT turbos come with dual bearing [i]only[/]!

A Garrett GT70 is for a catepillar truck or earth moving truck, not a 13B. Have a look at this:



The GT70 weighs 125kgs!! Thats nearly 250lbs!!!

Hre are other spec sheets for the GENUINE GT series of turbos from Garrett.
