Fuel Pressure Regulator Questions: Stock vs Aftermarket

OK well I am in the last few stages of my Twins to Single swap and I ran into a problem(lol i know). Anyways I am putting in bigger injectors 1300/850 to be exact and keeping my stock few rails for now. Anyways while starting to put everything back together I noticed that their was really no place to put a adjustable fuel pressure regulator as it sits now. I called a buddy of mine that knows a lot mroe then I do about this and he said since my goal is only to reach 400-425hp that I would not need to run a AFPR and if I really wanted to I would have to run after market fuel rails.

Now my question is, since I am a DSM guy I see 8% difference in fuel pressure when installing a walbro fuel pump on my Eclipse with the stock FPR. I was curious what kind of difference I will see on the fuel pressure without installing a after market FPR on the rx7 while running a walbro pump. Is the stock fpr able to handle 400-425hp? If yes then great, if not then does anyone have any suggestions?

FYI:
Stock Fuel Lines
Stock Fuel Rails
Walbro 255lph Pump
1300/850 Injectors
400-425hp Goal

well, if the regulator is actually doing its job...then you should see 0% difference.

OK so I should assume the stock FPR is good to hold the amount of fuel it's going to have to push through up to 400-425hp then?

Hi guys,

bringing this back from the dead because I recently purchased a FD with the exact same setup. The car is tuned for about 350whp on a single turbo with stock FPR. Have not had a chance to put a wideband or fuel pressure gauge on yet but dyno chart shows no problems holding steady AFR across RPMs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
