I have and 1993 FD3 and have recently gone single turbo and have plumbed the fuel atomisation air feed line to the turbo compressor as diected in the single turbo conversion diagram.
Potential problem is this is also where I have my boost controller pressure line plumbed and the boost controller is not working correctly. Basically I want to disconnect the atomisation line to see if the boost controller then works rather than drill a new hole in my turbo in case it doesn't work.

Question is will the car run okay with the atomisation line disconnected? If so should it be capped or vented to atmosphere? Also does it have to be connected pre throttle as the diagram shows or can it be off the plenum and work okay?

I have mine capped with no problems. I have gt35r that has been run that way for over a year. Idle still perfect but I cant compare it to an idle with the port connected as it has always been disconnected. I think venting to atmosphere would cause a vac/boost leak.

 

it must be hooked up pre throttle. Strictly speaking, it's not needed.



It does affect fuel consumption, although I'm not sure if the difference can be easily measured on a day-to-day basis. FYI Mazda relocated and improved the air bleed on the Renesis. It creates a high velocity jet which keeps fuel from sticking to the walls:

 

I noticed slighty richer idle afr's with it capped using 850 primaries, other than that everything was fine.

It has been a pain in the *** to accommodate. On both ends. First, i had a weird problem where that line feeds to by the primary injector rail. it wouldnt seal, so there was a boost leak there. THEN, it becomes a logistical nightmare to try and avoid using tees to splice its feed into.

With all of this complaining, i still keep it. Its grown on me.
