FMIC/ radiator help

i have the greddy vspl front mount intercooler on my second gen and i have some questions reguarding my cooling system.

the stock radiator seemed that is was running warmer than i had ever seen before ( which was around a 1/3 or maybe max 1/2 on a hot day).

i replaced the radiator with the fluidyne 38mm core that rx7.com sells. (got it from absolute radiator cheaper).

the fluidyne seems to be running the same temperature and even on cooler nights maybe a little warmer than the stock radiator. what is the deal with this???

where is the sensor that measures the temp for the guage? could this sensor/ guage be wrong? what should i do?

i feel that i should still keep the radiator since it has more coolant volume and can support more HP. but the lack of drop in the temps is making me apprehensive. am i wrong?

what should i do?

the thermostat is 10k miles old and is the stock one that came with the mazda reman. should i replace this with a 160 deg thermo?

seriously confused

Hey Dave, I have the same rad, the lack of a bleed screw means that air sometimes gets trapped, mine ran a little warmer, till I got all the air out, now it never goes past 1/4 guage, even with a FMIC. But I had a hard time initially getting all the air out, it would be ok then the buzzer would start coming on and the guage would rise a bit..Max

I had to keep collapsing the rad hoses by hand with the upper(thermostat housing) cap off in order to get the air out, it took to days to finally get it out, but has been good since..Max

Oops blahh,, to get the rad air out, you need to just loosen the level sensor a bit to bleed the upper tank off as well..Max
