Fd single turbo running super rich

Hi all

Just had my engine fitted and had some trouble getting it to start. It won't start unless I give it a sniff of easy start.
It's a single turbo running on a pfc with hand controller, 1680 injectors, sytec fuel pressure regulator and Walbro pump.

Once it starts it misfires badly and smokes grey out the exhaust, it stinks of fuel from the exhaust both burnt and unburnt. Literally makes your eyes water.

The pfc isn't getting a coolant sensor signal and just says this
Water temp : ----

When I remove the big brake vac hose it runs slightly better but still alot worse.

Any suggestions there's a video of it running here

if you went from stock twins to a single with bigger injectors you'll have to adjust your PFC accordingly. The PFC forum should have lots of good info for you.

Water temp is the problem. If the PFC isn't getting the signal from the 2-wire water temp sensor on the back of the water pump housing it can't compensate for the motor being cold. This is one of the primary inputs to any fuel injection system. Figure out why that isn't getting a signal, that should take care of it, or at least make things far better.

Thanks Dale, I found out that the earth wire (brown/black) was not connected to ground. I followed it back to the ecu and there it was disconnected into a chock block. I took this off and ran it to the ecu ground and I had a temp reading that was accurate! Mega

Now it's still running bad but it is alot better. I took a vid of what's going on to me it sounds like the timing is out. And it struggles to start on its own.
