Exhaust Gas Temperature

Gentlemen,
What temperature is considered safe when I'm at full boost (around 18psi)? and highway cruising? Currently I'm reading around 1400F - 1500F just cruising but it goes up to around 1700 when I boost it. I don't hold the boost too long because I'm scared the turbo or the motor will blow up.
