Exhaust cutouts - instant open exhaust
I posted this same thread over in the Rotary Performance issue, but I didn't get much or a response. I figured that the big dogs over here would have something to add.

I know the V8 boys use these all of the time right after their headers, but would they work on our car?
I'm thinking about trying one, but I don't know if they would hold up to the heat of the rotary. Anyone have any first hand experience with using one of these on a rotary flowing BIG CFM?

An instant open exhaust.
Steel, black hi-temp finish, 3 in. diameter tubing, exhaust cut-out
Just weld in a Summit exhaust cutout behind each header and you'll be able to convert to an open exhaust at the track. Precision MIG welded.

forgot to mention, noise is NOT an issue... also, if anyone does have any first hand experience, or even some regurgitated rhetoric () , please post!!! Any expience with the exhaust cutouts that don't have wingnuts? Ones that are lever activated, or possibly solenoid activated? I would think that with crazy CFM coming out of our engines, that a solenoid activated exhaust cutout would leak at high rpm/boost... any comments?

Romeo of Tand R racing ( www.rx7s.com ) had the exact one pictured when he ran 10.1. with his 3 inch exhaust before upgrading his exhaust. It was located about three feet from the turbo. Be careful when uisng it as it does tend to raise boost pressure.
