Lightbulb Exhaust back pressure monitoring ?

How many of you are monitoring the pressure of the exhaust between the exhaust port and turbo ? care to discribe you setup ? ( as in the pressure sensors you used , connection to the manifold etc.) and maybe post a pic or two ?
I am thinking of seting up a system to do this , so that a lot of guessing would be eliminated when looking at turbo performance ! thanks again guys.

You need a good length of copper line so as to isolate the heat from the gauge.
!/8th copper tubing does the trick well. You'll also need a high pressure gauge depending on the setup. Remember this is a temporary setup because eventually the carbon from the exhaust is going to clog the line and interfare with the readings. Depending on boost levels a presuure/map sensor as high as 7-bar might be needed.

I have worked for Paul Yaw for several years and being a rotor head before I got hired, I have asked questions and picked that man dry. I still have no idea on how to get a real reading on exhaust back pressure that would be worth knowing. I respect Crispeed as a fellow engine builder and would ask him if he thinks using a pressure gauge with copper tubing would really give a good number. Considering the control you would need to get a static number I would be beside myself if I could get something real. Running a ss p port I would say you are asking the right questions due to back pressure being a killer......I really would like to know, I have not had the ability to control exhaust enough to get a static reading of pressure through the power band. Crisspeed has had more time with this than I have had due to my training with Paul being mostly na race engines.

Shout out to crispeed....drop me a line sometime
