Dyno test 12A turbo in a FB

A friend of mine has a 83 FB with a mild streetport (RB template) and a Autronic SM 4 with 500 R cdi ignition. Turbo is a Turbonetics BB with 58 mm inducer and a Q trim turbine wheel with 0.84 A/R. Fuel is of course pump E85. Gus FD3S here did the mapping and the engine responded with 490 hp@8150 rpm! Torque was 505Nm@6800 rpm. boost was 23 psi from 5000 rpm. AFR in the 11.0 range. This was done on a dynocom magnetic rolling road. Hp is converted from whp to flywheel hp with 15% transmission loss Car felt strong on the road, but the steering inputs is really bad. We will eventually do another dyno test later this summer and cranc up the boost a little

You and me both. There was a big push in North America to go metric in the 80s. Canada went with it and the US back-pedaled.

To the OP: Very impressive numbers! Do you run the 1/4 mile? If so, what ETs and trap speeds are you putting down?

Don't know if Tero plans ro dragrace but i hope so! Btw according to the Moroso speed calc, ET can be as low as 10.40s-128 mph if the car weighs 2535 lb

5000 270 hp
5500 339 hp
6000 392 hp

With a skinny driver, less fuel and no spare tyre the 1st gen can be as light as 2475lbs.

10.40 would require a very fast 60ft time like 1.4-1.6 seconds and probably a clutch less sequential gearbox. Good luck getting into the 11's

those are sick numbers on the top end!!!! that being said the HP #'s @ 3000 rpm would barely make that thing streetable.
