Does anyone else have this problem?
Does anyone else have this problem?
If I shift to fast into third gear it seems like the clutch is sliping but the RPMS dont go up they bog down and you can smell it sliping. Thought it was the factory clutch and replaced it with ACT street strip clutch and it still does it. Is there a better trans I can buy. I drove a couple other 3rd gens and did the same thing whats the deal it really kills my quarter mile times cause I have to shift slow and make sure it is engauged so it does not do it. Thanks

I'm not a retard I would know if it was in 5th and not 3rd,did you read the part about smelling it slipping ,the only thing I can figure out is I shift it too fast and the clutch is not completley engaged to grab. But why the rpms take a dive, if it was in 5th the rpms would still climb and I would not smell the clutch burning.
From the given evidence, I agree with Mr rx-7 tt .
If the clutch is slipping from 2nd to 3rd, the revs would go up.
A 2nd to 5th would do as you stated, unless the engine is going into cut-off during/after the shift.
Let someone else drive your car and give their opinion.

I have had 2 rx7 techs drive the car and cant figure it out so it is not my imagination. I had some else tell me today that it maybe the hidrolics in the clutch he had a similar problem where the cluch did not respond fast enough.
