divided vs. undivided manifold?

What´s the different between divided and undivided manifold? I mean how they work differently(pros and cons)? I did a search and divided seem to be better/popular but what makes it better?

You separate the timing of each rotor housing's exhaust pulses so it doesn't disrupt the exhaust flow (by merging the flow of the exhaust into one) to the turbine wheel. It makes for quicker and sooner spool.
