different exhaust tones with different setups?

i ordered myself a muffler in today at work (i work for a huuuuge parts store)

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=661

and am most likely going to do 3" turbo back, with just this muffler at the end...

but ive heard about having after the downpipe split into two 2" pipes, then back to 3" at the back for the muffler will give a completely different sound...

anyone have any info on what gives an fc or an fd that REAL distinctive rotary sound?

cheers,Dan.

The rotary is what gives it the sound. I have a straight through 3" to a Racing Beat dual tip. It is loud and sounds what a rotary should sound like with the street port.

I like it...wish it was a little quiter though. I think porting is what gives you the 'really' rotary sounding, rotarys.

Mine has a JDM Krank exhaust on and since the half bridge it is stupid loud. Has boxed mid pipe and rear box. So looking at getting a new middle box.
