Decent Header Wrap/Turbo Heat Shield

I am looking for a decent header wrap, and a hot side turbo blanket. Can anyone reccommend a brand or 2 that can be trusted to not fall apart? If you got a link post that up too, k, Thanks

If you've got the time, take it off and get them coated with something like TurboX. I just had my downpipe done and it made a world of difference. Made it look much better too.

Gotham racing sells a turbo blanket, they had a special on them a while back. I got one and I'm pretty happy with it.

Yeah, I have one from them, but I tore it trying to make tight fit against the firewall. I may pick up another from them. There is a guy on ebay selling them for $106. I wonder if they are the same thing.

I just took a look at that site. They have an applicator shop close by. I wonder how long turn around would be?

Maybe I will give them a call check it out.

You can apply the techline/turbox coating in your garage. It air dry's and cures with the heat from the engine.

I had a powder coating shop do mine because the pipe needed to be sand blasted and cleaned up, but eric is right, it cures the first time you fire it up and get it hot. It was definitely a big improvement. The shop turned it around for me in about 8 hours and it was only $51.

Im having all mine done right now locally. It is a ceramic coating good for 2000deg. I think ceramic coating it or something to that nature would be better than wrap or blankets. It might take a little longer but would be worth it in the long run. Heres the place in case you wanted to look, www.moorepower.com. They ship out daily. Im doing all my stuff in the tech line turbo x black. Hopefully will take care of the heatsoak. Ill let you know how it works when i get it all back.

I think I am going to give this a try. I called the local shop, and he can have it turned around in under a week. He'll even send someone to pick up the parts. + I have used him before for polishing parts. He is very detailed and does excellent work.

I will snap some pics when I take the **** off and get it done.

i just wrapped my downpipe and midpipe. I used some stuff i found on ebay. It was 1/8th inch thick 2" wide, didnt tear and made a big difference. Seems like good stuff. Smelled the first time it got hot, but most that stuff does. I got 50' for like $30
