I made 781whp on the same turbo spiking 40psi. So again, like I said, your theory of flow charts is not accurate. Build a car and do it. Its not hard. Enzo built his brothers car that makes over 700rwhp on a 75mm Borg Warner, but he has the same LIM/UIM as Darkphantom. Its a proven setup thats worth alot of power. Stop doubting and go try it

Your assuming the dyno you put your car on, reads 100% accurate. Also, note the boost figures I'm quoting :P

According to Garret's compressor map, the turbo can push out 98 lbs/min at just a little over 30 psi which equals ~754 rotary rwhp max. See how the numbers are getting a lot closer?

Your assuming I only dynoed that number on one dyno It was backed up on another dyno 2 weeks later in front of about 30 people at a dyno shoot out. 23psi is not out of the relm of possiblity. He already stated it made 670rwhp on a dynojet. I made 620whp on wastegate spring using the stock UIM. His is worth atleast 40rwhp. Everyone doubts the power when they havn't done it. Go and build a car to make the power and then doubt it after you tried. All Im saying is, its totally possible.

James.....let me know if you want to bring the car by sometime and throw it up on my Mustang Dyno(located in royal palm beach).....we can do a full analysis on it and present the results in an accepted format for everyone to appreciate!....I'm sure the car is making good power...but presentable data is very important for making claims....your dyno graph was plotted in mph...which is not the accepted format...(RPM is) and also the dyno wasnt loaded during the run(judging by the sound in the video) ....this is causing the dyno to calculate a HUGE amount of power as the roller inertia is very low in this mode...with proper weight equivelent loading, it should be a little different...lol.

Heres a video to show you my dyno setup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi7CP...layer_embedded

...lets get you on the rollers and show everyone what your workin' with bro!

-Jack

P.S. - The GTR in that video currently holds the world record for GTR trap speed @ 141mph ...heres that video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTGfX...layer_embedded

I think you should take it to the track, and stop racing in traffic.

"presentable data is very important for making claims....your dyno graph was plotted in mph...which is not the accepted format...(RPM is)"

continuing as to dyno "formatting"

what is the cheapest simple-ist mod to make more power?

use Standard rather than SAE as a correction factor. you get an instant 2.25% more hp. at the 700 hp level that's 16 hp!

i admit we are talking just under 3% but in a world where you just select your Correction Factor method and press enter you have to wonder as to the intentions of anyone pressing the plus 2.25% hp button...

everyone knows that SAE is the standard and it should be the standard for this forum.

of course there is uncorrected which unless the temp/humidity/pressure is displayed could be anything. i read a comment by someone who posted an uncorrected dyno sheet who said that since it was uncorrected it was the real thing... sure, but the reason we use correction factors is so we can compare on equal footings. we all know how fast our cars are in 40 degree weather... would it be fair to compare hp between one FD in 40 degree weather and one in 90 degree weather?

if you are going to post a number, generally to the tenth of a hp () you owe it to the board to post it in SAE and w an X scale in RPM.

what is the correction factor for the OP's sheet?

i am not calling the hp claim out necessarily, just wishing our board would settle on dyno formats.

and of course the ultimate expression of power is ontrack but properly executed dyno sheets certainly come in a close second.

that all said, congrats on your achievements and you have a pretty interesting thread going w alot of good comments.

on a dyno dynamics the tuner can input the car's weight and other things, now i guess if the weight of the car is like 2500lbs then the dyno numbers will be higher..better said dyno dynamics numbers can be manipulated. dyno the car on a dynojet dyno then show us the numbers now since the car is already tuned. also it seems as if those cars in Fl make some big numbers at low boost, it must be the air i also need on of those turbos....like one person said run the car and let us see trap speed, the track never lies!

Now why would he dyno his car again? It runs good and is fast, and currently he can spout off that hes making 737.9 WHP! Ignorance is bliss?

If it's as high as 1.5 as someone stated that could be a huge difference. Hell even 1.05 would be a significant difference. No load can skew the numbers as well as stated above. A lot of places though do there "power" run on no load and their tune with load to bump their numbers. We don't but we constantly have to explain that to customers. I'd say put it on a Dynojet there is no setting car parameters or numbers fudging.

Just so it's clear, I'm not saying the OP is wrong or lying either he very well could believe those numbers as that is what the shop is showing him and maybe somehow he is. I question the shop or more so the shops dyno. There are only two ways to know put it on another dyno or get the MPH, racing some other vehicle tells you nothing.

All things being spot on the turbo is good for roughly 830whp on a rotary. So some people's math in here is a bit off and there is no way to make a turbo flow more than it can flow sorry, maybe I'm misunderstanding some posts in here but once the motor flows more than the turbo can supply the turbo stalls, it doesn't just make more power. A good point of reference on this forum would be Steve Kan's thread a few years back with a GT40.

Either way I'm all for getting it on another dyno and seeing exactly what's up, either a lot in here eat their words or the car in question isn't making the power the shops dyno claims.

At what boost levels have you been able to see that? What fuel?

Thank you for coming out and saying it. Sometimes things that seem like "common sense" just aren't, apparently.

I personally haven't, I'm speaking strictly to potential. On that turbo most of the cars run around 730-760whp a few get more 770-780's thats the norm, my point is if your going to throw charts and numbers around as people have don't use half the formula's posted above it's not just lbs per minute divided by 1.3ltr that works pretty good for stock ports and/or conservative numbers but two things need to be considered port work and garrett's maps are known to be conservative. I've always added 10% for portwork and such to that formula. I know it seems simple and at times can be conservative and honestly you could just subtract about 15% from the piston hp number and it gets you close but not conservative. Look at this though adding 10% gives you 829hp from 753hp correct? (Ernie already made 780+ so we know the 753 is conservative) It is funny that if you go by what liborek has said of 17% where do you end up? 813hp. I would say liborek is correct in giving a good assessment of the turbo's potential. Hope that wasn't too confusing.

A few things to point out. Going by mph on the dyno isnt a huge deal because 140mph is over 8000rpm.
Notice the torque and how it never falls off until after they left off. The odds are he had really bad boost creep and that went way past 23 lbs of boost. I would get the car on a dynojet or Mustang and monitor the boost levels.

I was half-way suspecting that as well being as it's an SS autochrome wastegate.

The other part that makes me raise an eyebrow is the way that it wraps up. Makes it hard to believe that there is any load.

Like everyone else, I'd love to see some 1/4 mile traps or a dynojet run or both.

I'd like to add when I say "half the formula" posted I meant the formula I posted, howards is divide by 1.3. The most we've ever seen on that compressor wheel is 810 and oddly enough that is pretty close to liboreks 17% figure. We ran a slightly larger comp cover though.

#1 i have a throttle body that flows more than any fd out there besides redr1
#2 all of the passes i have redlines the car at 9500rpm so the mph is accurate
#2.5 because of that i have a 1.28 ar housing that allows my turbo to keep flowing until i let off
#3 next Friday jack i should be there to dyno the car. I just need a place that has e85 to make it up there and back

#4 Ernie made 800+hp before the motor blew.

#5 most of the people who make tons of hp don't even come on here.

I don't really care about the non-believers. I just wanted the car to do two things. 1. beat a 1000cc bike and 2. be able to trap more than 140+ in the quarter

Its like I'm trying to convince people to believe my religion
