Cutting waste gate spring

I've searched for this but there was only one thread and it didnt help.
I was wondering, I have a 45mm tial wastegate with a 15lb. spring in there. Cam just rebuild my engine and wanted to keep the boost to 9psi. to break the engine in.

So he cut it. After that it was keeping at 9psi. My question is, Once the engine is broken in can I turn the boost up till 16psi.? or even 25?

Im thinking that once its cut I cant boost it higher. Maybe I have to replace the spring now?
Thanks

That Cool Power Kit, is that a type of auxillary injection (water, meth, etc)? 25 psi on just pump gas is dangerous IMO.

No thats just to keep heat down. Like wraping the turbo. I dont have the meth. injection kit in yet. But it will go in for 25psi. also 1200/1600 injectors.

You can run whatever boost you want with a boost controller provided the car is tuned properly. The WG spring is only the starting point.

You can crank the boost up just like normal.

A spring is a spring's a spring. The boost controller will only be able to safely boost 2x the pressure of the spring though......so you're going to be limited to about 18-20psi with that spring.
