Clipping a GT 35/40?

Has anyone done this to the exhaust side? I have as few nicks in the exhaust wheel from when the motor popped last time due to bad gas. The turbo spools and feels fine. Actually feels better because I made my exhaust ports bigger. I am concerned that it might be slightly out of balance though, and was thinking of having it clipped to balance it out. Any opinions on this? Does clipping yeild a power increase?

clipping (from what i understand) will cause the turbo to act as though it is working with a larger exhaust housing....which could yield a top end power increase, but possibly at the expense of a quick spool.

Ihor, if its already damaged and could be "fixed" by clipping it, take it to majestic turbos and try it out....cant hurt to experiment. majestic is located in irving and in most cases have a 1 day turnaround on their work. I wouldnt run it if you dont think its balanced correctly.
