Question Cleaning up the rats nest...

I was wondering... I'm running the T04S setup and when I get my car back I would like to clean up the rats nest under my intake manifold and switch to silicone lines. I know that some of the Vacuum lines have been become useless in their presence. Have any of ya'll preformed this procedure or know of a good info site that could help me out???
Thanks for any input,
Ryker

As far as I know if your running single turbo the only vacume line you should have is for the fuel regulator.

What vacume lines are you talking about?

Well there is the large grouping of now hard and crusty rubber vacuum hoses that sit behind the alternator and below the intake manifold and to the left of the throttle body... any ideas??
Thanks,
Ryker

I am no rotary expert but my 3rd gen is having a TO4E fitted (by myself). I have removed all solenoids and hoses. All I have is a line to the fuel pressure regulator. I also have a line to the external wastegate via an aftermarket boost control solenoid. The kit is basd on the HKS one, the Japanese instructions detail some vac line removal, but I fail to see what else is required. I have long since removed secondary throttle control and hot start fuel pressure raise stuff. Other emissions stuff has also long been removed. It is one HELL of a lot cleaner install with the "rats nest" removed, and hopefully more reliable and easier to troubleshoot! Only other line is to the boost gauge.

to remain emissions legal youll need to keep you acv lines and unit in tack, asside from that
1 for fpr- if u have single u prob should have rrfpr
1 to map sensor
1 to boost gauge

for the boost controller it should be routhed to a non vac boost source..ie right after the compressor housing..
not on the uim or lim......

then the 2 omp oil injectors u can either cap them or t' the tops of them together and run it to a nipple in the turbo inlet area

Last page, last line of instructions for to4e setup:

IC pipe to oil injection vacuum line "T" into injector air bleed socket.

Just reading it over before installation "What Is It"

Ok you Remove the upper intake manifold and remove all the hoses... all of them, but leave the solinoid rack, If your running a power FC you can take out all the solinoids too because the power FC will just ignore that they are gone... now run a vaccume line from the manifold to the fuel pressure regulator, and anouther to the MAP sensor, if your using a blow off, boost gauge etc run hoses to them too... while you have the upper manifold off rip out the actuator and throttle plates on the secondary runners and block off the hole by threading in a bolt or having the hole welded shut.. while your at it bypass the water line to the throttle body, just put a cap on the rear housing where the water comes out and one more on the front water pump housing where the water goes back in... If you want to remove the ugly emissons air pump thing on the inside of the lower manifold go to K2RD and buy the $10 block off plate... also take off 2 of the filters from some of the solinoids and put them on top of each of the 2 oil injectors just to keep dirt out... that's about as simple as I can make it...

Look next to your intake elbow, its mounted on the car. Its about the size of a match book with MAZDA on it and its about half way between the elbow and your driver windshield wiper.... Has a hose connected to it.

If your speaking of the block off plate needed for under the manifold any pics of this and hose re-vamping would be greatly appreciated.

Here ya go!

You are able to remove all the solenoids under the manifold with the aftermarket computer like the PFC. The only vacuum lines you require are the obvious lines like the ones to the oil bypass valves near the injectors as well as the other obvious ones like the PVC valve, boost controller, and blow-off vavle. All the original vacuum lines that control specifically your boost can be removed.

Basically follow the instructions for the boost controller as well as the blow-off valve. The will result in eliminating your "rats nest".

I believe I have some good pics on my web page. Click the www icon on this message.

If I can get any pics that would be most helpful... even if it is a crappy one so I have some sort of idea of what I'm looking at... My instructions for my T04S setup didn't come back to me from RP when they installed it. I just prefer to have some sort of Idea of what I am looking at before I take the manifold off. carcrazys site dosn't have any good pics (of what were trying to find plent of other good ones though )just a partial shot of under the manifold.
