Question Choosing a Blow-Off Valve...

I did some searching and really didn't find anything related to "this vs. that"

I will be running a Turblown TD61 Ball bearing turbo on a mild street port.

Other supporting mods that I think would be related to my question:

1. Custom V-Mount
2. Turblown Turbo manifold
3. Synapse 50mm WG

Basically, I'm looking for a few options for my setup. The V-Mount kit came with a Greddy RS BOV and I'm wanting to go another route since I've seen that they can have issues.

So...What does everyone else use and why?

I've used Tial products in the past with no issues at all. The look is something that appeals to me and the reliability is rock solid. Had a Tial 50mm on two previous cars that ran flawlessly.

My current build is similar to yours, S366, V-Mount, custom manifold/dp. I'll be running two MV-S gates as the 38mm redesign is super compact and fits roughly anywhere. I also picked up a Tial Q which is essentially a spruced up 50mm.

Let us know what you choose!

I got the jdm lan-evo mr bov. DentSport recommended I purchase it as its what they use on their cars. Oem quality.

Mitsubishi OEM EVO MR JDM Blow Off Valve :: EVO 8/9 Blow off Valves :: EVO 8/9 Blow Off Valve :: Blow Off Valve :: LancerShop.com | Lancer Performance Parts and Accessories

I had a greddy knockoff that RotaryWorks sent me. Pushing the valve in by hand, it would stick. Garbage. I had a Turbo XS H-RFL on the conquest tsi I used to have. It sounded great, but stuck closed until the car warmed up. Probably a knockoff.

I ran an SSQV for a while. Function was great but it got annoying hearing it after a while.

New setup i'm going with the TiAL Q. Can post results later but doesn't sound like you can go wrong with that piece.

I'm definitely NOT going for aesthetics or "cool" sounds.

But. If it works great, looks great and sounds great, I'll take that, too.

For what its worth, most people seem to go Tial or HKS. The Synapse has picked up popularity, but I'm still not convinced they're worth the cash.

in comparison to both the HKS and TiAL?

They're both similarly priced.

I've run both the Tial and HKS over the years...both worked fine...HKS gets annoying after a while.

So I decided to stick with the Greddy RS for now. I have to spend money elsewhere on the car and a BOV isn't really a priority.

Which means I haven't taken much thought in to the suggestions...lol

But I do appreciate everyone's input!

I actually changed my mind and have sold the Greddy BOV.

I will be purchasing a Synapse BOV as its replacement.

Go with the one you prefer the looks and sound of. The Synapse one seems to have the least rice sound as its just a woosh. SSQV is obviously the ultimate rice.

Yea I'm definitely going for whatever gains the least amount of attention.

I've read nothing but good things about the Synapse across a lot of different platforms when it comes to performance so I'm comfortable with this decision.
