can I use a 3" RB donwpipe to a T04z?

Silly question, but I am trying to save a bit of coin IF possible.
..I have a 3 inch RB downpipe currently hooked up to a BNR stage 3 on my S5TII engine.
I would like to know if anyone have ever used the RB downpipe and made an Extension piece to allow a Vbanded Turbo to go on.
My intentions are to run the RB system to the Garret T04z Turbo.
(if not possible I will just break down and buy a Downpipe From HIMNI)
Thanks guys,STYX.

Sounds plausible however the vband flange has to be percise....i mean super percise if you want it to still fit nicely into your mid-pipe/high flow cat. Even a fraction of a degree off will throw the alignment off on the other end. I would just buy one and sell your RB downpipe to help recoupe the funds.......

Hotwheelz is correct in that you need to avoid the very common V band leaks... all you do is connect the V band to the back of the turbo w a small length of tubing and then join that tubing to the RB downpipe. an easy job for most welders.
