I am about to buy a single turbo rx-7 and i am wondering what i need to check for to make sure the car is in good working order. Tommrrow i plan to take it to a mechanic to get a compression test done on the engine, anything else i should look out for?

 

I would make sure that the owner of the car has upgraded the fuel system. Also see if the injectors have been changed.

 

See how many motors (if any) it's been through. That's a great way of knowing how the tuning is. If it's been blowing up with the previous owner... there's a good chance it will with you too. It will let you know if you need some dyno time... or if tuned safely... you won't have to worry.

Other than that... Make sure it's got fuel, and the typical other mandatory upgrades these cars need.

 

take t for a nice rip aroudn the block. it will tell ya more then you would think.
