Biggest turbo on an FD

If im not mistaken there was a Guy on here that had a GT42R on a fd. that thing was so big the guy needed a medium intercooler to fit in the engine bay plus its about the same size as the 13b

but is that the biggest turbo that someone has fit. Im not asking whats the biggest, just who or what company has put the biggest turbo in there FD

It's no GT42, but my buddy is putting in an PT88 in his FD. Oh yeah, and it's a 20B powered FD, I might add.

The compressor covers are somewhat larger. The funny thing is they look even bigger in person on the car, than in the pics.

Is the surge delete
a mod? or a diffrent cover

also heard you can mate a T4 housing
instead of the T6
which would be good for 13B's

You can get a GT42 witha T6, or a T4, but you are relegated to particular ARs when doing so, Sean has the scoop.

Silver94 is "Excessive Motorsports". They are primarily a Supra shop, but now they want to come to the dark side

They want to become the fastest FD in the street class. His goal is consistant high 8's. Which should easily be possible. Ari went 9.1 with the 5spd. If he went w/ the auto that Excessive has, he would shave a 1/2 sec. easily.

That is correct....Virtual Works not Excessive although there is nothing wrong with Ralph and those guys. He has been a great help to me with parts and advice. They also have a GT42 on there car which made somewhere in the mid 600's to the wheels.

We tried to fit a GT47 but couldn't do it. Not enough room without cutting some stuff up and i didn't want to do anymore of that if i didn't have to.

Surge delete is a mod to the anti surge housing. You press fit a piece of aluminum that has been turned down on a lathe or CNC'd into the inlet of the turbo. It smooths out the air and helps in quite a few ways.

We did that a couple years ago but didn't like it.....very slow spooling. But for a 20b it might do ok.

Hell yea very SICK!

makes me want to go with a GT42
just for the awww factor when you open the hood ..lol

and man if you can make
500+ at 15 PSI
which some guys have made

Just think about it
only a few years ago
racers had to run 25+ PSI to pass 500 HP

I think the advance of EMS's
and tuning
has been able to spool
turbos that where unthink'able to run on a 13B
just some years ago

I just finally got my GT42R running. It is only tuned at 10psi because my factory clutch is slipping like a ****. It is laggy but by 4500rpm it pulls like a champ .... hard.
